Fun Cousin Playdate

Today Aunt Tarah and Uncle Travis went to a movie so we watched the kids for them. Rylee and Bryson were so cute playing together. Bryson would watch Rylee do something then mimic her and Rylee would chase him all over the house. The two of them played on the entry way stairs for over 30 minutes and then they moved upstairs into the playroom. They went on the slide and played kitchen. Towards the end of their play date Uncle Jason stopped by and played for a few minutes too. Oh and don't forget the Tupperware cabinet the two of them unloaded! - k

Dress Up

Rylee has fallen in love with playing dress up thanks to Cousin Megan! Megan got a lot of cute dress up clothes for Christmas and was so sweet to share them with Rylee. Grandpa Steve gave Rylee some money to go get a few "extra" Christmas presents, so I thought "Dress up clothes." Grandma and I hit the stores and found some cute good deals at Toys R Us. We got a Tinkerbell outfit and a ballerina outfit along with a tiara, bracelets and a necklace. She has had some much fun dressing up herself and Grandma and Papa tonight. She was a very cute ballerina all evening.

Christmas Update

We have been without internet since Saturday and it has been quite a break for myself and my fellow blogger Aunt Erica. I will be honest a few times I did get a little sad I could not update our trip on the blog for all of you.
On Saturday the entire family headed up to a cabin at Sundance. The cabin was absolutely amazing. It is over 40 years old. It had a huge deck and gorgeous views, and of course SNOW everywhere. We had so much fun playing with the kids, in the snow, cooking, and of course wrapping and opening presents.
Rylee was so cute on Christmas morning. I thought for sure she wouldn't be into opening presents and all that, but she was the first kid to finish opening presents. She would open one present look at it, set it down, and head for another one. Santa brought her a trike and she sat on it for about 20 minutes and opened presents on it. All of the pictures from the trip are on our computer at home, and I have already flewn to California for a late Christmas out here. I will update pictures when I get a chance, but if you would like to see some pictures of the trip the family has created a blog: www.christmasinutah.blogspot.com. Hope all of you had a wonderful and merry Christmas.

First Sucker

Cousin Megan went to a really cute haircutting place today and got her first "professional" haircut, and I must say it is very cute. After her haircut Megan got a sucker and a balloon, so of course we had to have a sucker and a balloon too. This was Rylee first sucker. She did a really good job sucking it and keeping it in her mouth; however, she was bored with it after about 3 minutes. - k

Shopping Has Never Been So Fun...

These two girls are enjoying every second they have together. Every where they go they are laughing and squealing together. It is extremely fun to watch.

Visit From the Motts

Our friends the Mott's were in town from Texas this week and stopped by after Church today. They have four of the sweetest, most polite boys ever. Just before they moved they had their fourth boy Sam and he is 15 days older than Rylee. Rylee and Sam are a true testament of kids taking after their parents. Sam's parents are 6'7" and 6', while Rylee's parents are all of 5'9" and 5'3", check out the size difference in these two already. While in the end Sam might be a little to tall for Rylee, we had a great time getting them to give each other loves and kisses today! - k

Who Do You Know In Hong Kong?!

As the husband/dad, I don’t get the chance to ‘blog’ very often, but I overheard an interaction between my two girls this morning that I thought I’d share. My wife was on the phone with our cell phone company this morning trying to find out why our bill was ridiculously high last month. I could tell from her side of the conversation that the charges were not going to be reversed, and as the call ended all of that energy was immediately channeled towards a little girl whose favorite toy USED to be her mother’s phone:

“WHO DO YOU KNOW IN HONG KONG?! WHO DID YOU CALL IN HONG KONG EIGHT TIMES LAST MONTH?!”

This is my way to trying to handle the situation with humor—Heaven knows I’m trying—but I think the cell phone is officially in the running for the title of my daughter’s Most Expensive Toy.

Look What Happens...

So I downloaded Rylee's 18 month Ages and Stages Questionairre, and one of the questions asked if she could eat with a spoon and I thought 'lets try.' After Rylee's nap today I made her some lunch and she went to town. It is the first time she has eaten in 4 days, seriously! She had so much fun being a big girl with a spoon and bowl. I have to give up on trying to have "clean" meals and realize I have a toddler and there is no such thing as a clean meal! - k

Preppy Baby

Well I thought this outfit was too cute not to get a picture of her in, so I busted out the camera last night. She stood against the couch and gave me a semi-pose for about 10 seconds and then off she went. She has fallen in love with her ball blower that she has. Her favorite thing is to tip it so the air and balls blow right into her face, what a nut! Then we found the pacifier somewhere and she started dropping it into the ball blower, but it didn't come out. She figured out how to tip it upside down and get the pacifier out though, sometimes she surprises me at how smart she really is! Oh and I forgot, check out our new hairstyle a single pony/bun and Mommy's favorite bow! - k

Blah! Don't Go!

Okay so I thought I was being so smart going to the Picture Studio at Target. I had always gone to Kiddie Kandids, and it would make me sick every time I went to spend so much on pictures. So, my great brain thought Target's Picture Studio has got to be cheaper lets go there for Christmas Pictures. I called to make a reservation and I was really excited. They asked all sorts of questions like what Rylee would be wearing, they asked my to wear a coordinating shirt, and even asked me to bring her stocking for cute pictures. Well we got there and of course Rylee was not in a smiley mood, she wasn't screaming just not smiling either! Normally at other studios the people try and try to get her to smile and they generally succeed, well this lady didn't do anything. Grandma and I had to put on a show for Rylee. Then it came time to order pictures and I find out they are the EXACT same price as Kiddie Kandids or my favorite The Picture People. The pictures did look cute, but then I found out it takes TWO WEEKS to get them in. I wanted to tell the lady thanks but no thanks, but I had already paid by now. So, save your time and get your pictures the same day, don't go to Target Picture Studio. - k

Playing with Grandma and Grandpa

Rylee and Papa Rocking

Rylee and Grandma being silly with the pillow.

Grandma's Bag

Rylee had a great time playing with Grandma and her bag today. She did ruin a little bit of the yarn, so it is a good thing Grandma loves her! - k

Inspired by Aunt Erica

I went to look at Cousin Megan's blog this morning and I noticed Aunt Erica had given it a facelift, and I thought to myself, 'hmmm, lets change ours too.' So, I did. Hope you like it. -k

YACK!

Tonight has been a rough night for our little girl. She went thru the normal routine: last-minute playing, jammies, singing with Daddy and off to bed. Well, it's only been an hour since then, we're already on our third pair of pajamas, and 'Blankie' has had a bath. She's sleeping now, but we all could be in for a long night. -m

Meet Lucas

Uncle Travis and Aunt Tarah added another beautiful baby boy to their family the other day. Lucas was born on December 3 at 8:13 p.m. He weighed in at 6 pounds 12 ounces and he was 18 1/2 inches. We are so happy that both Aunt Tarah and our new cousin are doing great. From what I hear Cousin Bryson is a fantastic big brother! We are very happy for their family, and we cannot wait until we get to see them in 21 days!! - k

Winter is OFFICIALLY here

This morning Rylee and I came downstairs for breakfast and opened up the curtains just like every other morning, but today we found LOTS of snow. Over night it had snowed roughly 4 inches and since these pictures we have gotten about another 2 inches. Last winter I bought Rylee a snowsuit for this winter and I have been dying to get her in it. So, we quickly ate breakfast, got bundled up, and went to play in the snow. It wasn't all that I had hoped for, but she will soon grow to love playing in the snow too. She sat in it and by the end was running her hands threw it and even tried eating some of the snow off of her gloves. We left our Christmas snowmen up last night, good thing or else they would have been buried in the snow, so we thought it was appropriate to take some snowy pictures with them. - k
