Not in the Mood Dad

How come I have a feeling this is not the last time we will see this look from our little girl. This morning Rylee was not feeling well, we are hoping not another sinus infection, so she and I were snuggling and Matt tried to get some pictures - she was not having it.

Reaction Comparison

I think it is fair to say that Rylee was much more of a fan of rice cereal the first time then Nolan was, I'm sure he will start to like it shortly.

4 Month Appointment

On Friday Rylee and I took Nolan in for his 4 month check up. We are happy to report he is doing great. He is reaching all milestones and developing right no schedule. He is a chatter box, he loves to chew on anything (even Aunt Karlie's Jeans tonight), he loves to play with toys he can hold, he is a very happy boy, but his favorite thing right now is to jump in a jumper! He weighed 15 pounds 11 ounces (67 percentile), was 25 inches (55 percentile), and his head was 17 inches (77 percentile). He is doing a great job with his tummy time and holding up his head! He gets to start rice cereal, we have tried it a few times since Friday, but I am still working on working it into the routine. We discussed his spit up problem, because we have had quite a few people comment on how they have never seen a baby puke as much as Nolan, but the Doctor said he is just a happy spitter. So, lots of burp rags, bibs and changes of clothes go everywhere that we go because he pukes all day long!

Laughing Kiddo's

A few nights ago we were trying to get some cute laughs out of both the kids, and this was the best video we got.

Waiting for Maddi

Rylee was so excited to see her friend Maddi today! Maddi had been in New York for 3 weeks, and these two girls had not seen each other in a month, so the mommies arranged a little lunch/play date. This morning we had Nolan's check up and Mommy's gym, and then when we came home to get lunch ready. We got home around 11:45 and I tried to explain that Maddi would not be there until 12:30, but it did not matter to this little girl. For the first 15 minutes we were home, Rye sat at the back door yelling at the top of her lungs, "Maddi, Where are you?" Then she came into the kitchen and for about 10 minutes asked me where she is, and then she started laying on the kitchen floor to watch for her. She made me get her and Maddi a milk cup that she gave to Maddi the minute she got to our house. We finally had to go outside and wait because Rylee kept scooting down one stair at a time in the garage, and slowly creeping out of the garage to go look for Maddi, so we just went and waited in the driveway. The girls had a great time together, and both of them took very big naps this afternoon.

Hanging Out Together

Rylee wants to be with Nolan all the time, which is cute and frustrating at times! Today he was so happy just kicking and playing in his crib while I vacuumed, but she wanted to get in with him too. So we had a talk about being careful in the crib and careful with Nolan, and then I stuck her in! She did an awesome job! She made sure he was always warm with his blanket and she even snuggled him for awhile.

More Scooting

I had a bag of stuff to drop off at a neighbors house and Rylee decided she wanted to ride her scooter, so I obliged. What she did not understand was it was a long scooter ride, and by the end she was pooped and I was carrying her, her scooter and Nolan in his Baby Bjorn. I shot a video of her riding her scooter, so you could all enjoy it!

A Run With Daddy

Yesterday for Daddy/Daughter lunch Rylee and Daddy went on a run together. They pumped up the tires on the jogging stroller, got some snacks, and off they went. They had a great time together. On the jog they encountered some escaped cows that were literally on the bike path having lunch, so Rylee was really excited to see the "Whoa, big cows!" Daddy taught her to scream when you go through a tunnel and waves her hands all about, it is really cute. Then she crashed out! When they got home I hurried to get a picture of her with her sun glasses half way down her face, but as you can see she started to wake up, but I still got a pretty good shot!

Scooter Fun

Last night we went on a walk with Rylee's friends Addie and Sadie, and both girls rode their bikes. Well Rylee was very sad that she could not ride her bike, so I promised her she could practice today. We went to the store and she picked out her own helmet, "Cars," and then we came home to practice. Well we are going to have Daddy put 2x4's on the peddles of our tricycle, because we still cannot reach! After the bike didn't work, we tried out the scooter and she did a great job! She pushes with her left leg and balances on her right, and if you ask her to switch legs it is hilarious to watch! She is goofy footed like her mother, I guess. She rode outside for over an hour on her scooter this evening, and we kept asking if she was tired and she would say, "No, more scooter!" I'm excited that she can finally do a "big kid" toy, and so is she.

Having a Great Time

While Rylee was sitting in the car-seat Nolan was having a great time with his playmat. He is now swatting at the toys and even pulling on them, it is so fun to watch him grow and get smarter by the day!

"I Keep My Toes Warm!"

After we got home for "My Gym" this morning Rylee decided she wanted to play in Nolan's car-seat. She pulled it out from the corner and put it in the middle of the room and climbed in. I asked her what she was doing and she informed me, "I keep my toes warm!" She is such a silly little girl.

Smiley and Stable

Nolan has finally got control of his head and loves to sit up now. One of his favorite things is to sit in the Bumbo and look around at everything. Today he sat in it for over a half hour just looking around and being entertained by Rylee. He is also extremely smiley these days. It only takes a look in his direction for him to smile back and even giggle.

Easter Pictures

Last Friday we got the kids pictures taken in their Easter outfits. Grandpa Steve got them coordinating outfits that were so cute, and then Grandma made Rylee a cute dress too! Nolan was not having it in the pictures of the two of them together, he was uncomfortable, so there are not many of those. I think we got some really good shots of both kiddos though. Here are my two favorites and then there is a slide show of all of them.

Nolan being so sweet!

Such a sweet girl!

Fun with Brooke

On Sunday after dinner Rylee and Brooke had a great time playing bubbles together. This cute picture was taken just before they went out to play! We are so lucky to have such great friends, since our families are not close by.

Easter Day

We had such a fun Easter Day! It started this morning with Easter baskets for the kids. The Easter Bunny was good to the kids this year, and Rylee was really excited about the presents. She was funny because she bypassed her basket and went straight to Nolan's and took each item out and delivered them to him. Nolan got a new outfit, some formula, and a fun toy from the Easter Bunny. After Rylee gave Nolan his presents she went to explore what the Easter Bunny brought her. Rylee got a new outfit too, a chocolate bunny, an egg with Elmo in it, and a new scooter (from Papa Steve). She was so excited to get the scooter down and start riding it, so Daddy moved the rug in the entryway so she could ride around. The Easter Bunny came back to the house while we were at Church to hide eggs, but she was so tired when we got home she fell asleep. She was really cute when she hunted for the eggs because she was very serious! When she found an egg she had to open it right then to see what was in it. Most of the afternoon Nolan napped, so I did not get any pictures of him in his outfit, but we got their pictures taken on Friday and we will get them soon.

Tummy Time Together

Nolan does a really good job with his tummy time, but today he did even better because he had a special helper. Rylee laid with Nolan for most of the 15 minutes today and just stared at him and talked to him. She would compliment him and tell him to lift his head, it was so cute.

Ice Cream-Aholic

Up until recently Rylee has not been much of an ice cream fan, but now she is asking me for it every other day. A few weeks ago Daddy got her an ice cream cone at the grocery store because she had been a good girl all day, and to our surprise she loved it. She ate the entire thing! Just this last week our friends up the street invited us to a play-date at Chick-fil-a. They have a really fun playland and we were able to let the kids run around and have a great time together. After they all ate their lunches some of the kids came back with ice cream cones, and as soon as I saw them I knew Rylee would want one too. Within 30 seconds of the other kids coming back, Rylee was tapping on my leg asking for one. So I gave her a dollar and she and her friend Addie went and bought an ice cream cone together. The girls were so cute, they stood in a circle and enjoyed the cones together. That night all I heard was, "Mommy, I want more ice cream, please!" Maybe next time Grandpa Rick is in town, the two of them can share some ice cream together, because he too is an ice cream-aholic!

Wide Awake and Happy

Nolan was a bit of a stinker today when it came to taking his afternoon nap, so of course he chose to crash out from 6:30 to 10:15 tonight! After he woke up and had his bottle, he was all smiles. Matt got home from work shortly after and tried to capture some of the smiles, but of course Nolan got fixated on the camera. We were able to get a few cute shots still, but this kid sees the camera and is fascinated with it - silly boy. He also loves to play Superman now. It is so fun to hold him up and feel all his muscle work, he is one strong little boy.

Playing With Toys

Just today Nolan started holding and waving his toys around. Rylee gets really excited when he holds them, and she even compliments him "good job No-No!" It seems like each day he is accomplishing something new, plus look at those cute smiles!

Ouchie

This evening we were out running errands and it ended with dinner at Rylee's favorite store, Costco! We walked in the door and she started asking for a piece of pizza, so after getting what we needed we grabbed some dinner. We were eating dinner and she tried to stand up on the bench, when she did she slipped on a napkin and fell. She hit her chin on the table on her way to the floor, and got this nice ouchie. Of course I had just scheduled easter pictures, so we will post pone those for a few days.
