15 Month Check Up

I know who can believe it, little Rye Rye is 15 months old today! We had our doctors appointment this morning and we are happy to report she is healthy, happy, and reaching her developmental stages! Dr. Mumford was very impressed with Rylee's ability to blow him kisses, show him her nose, ears, belly button and tongue, and she gave him lots of high fives. We got a new nurse today and she struggled to measure Rylee, she had her actually shrinking since her 1 year check up (that can't be possible). So, I asked Dr. Mumford to remeasure and he had her growing an inch and a half since her last appointment. That made her 29 1/2" which puts her in the 14th percentile. Since she has learned how to crawl and she is ALL over the place she has only gained 6 ounces in the last 3 months, making her 19 pounds 8 ounces and in the 2nd percentile. He said she needs to start eating all table foods and start using silverwear (that will be messy)! She only had to get one shot, DTap, and it was just as traumtic as when she gets 3 or 4, but she is doing better now. I will add some picture once she wakes up. - k

15 Month Pictures

Yesterday we went to the mall and got Rylee's pictures taken. I have done a pretty good job at getting them done every 3 months or so, and it is amazing to see the change from her 1st birthday pictures to these. She is so much taller and thinner, oh and check out those feet that are finally growing! Hope you enjoy.

Lasagna

We had some lasagna for dinner on Monday, so yesterday we had the leftovers for lunch. Rylee had never tried lasagna before, and I think she likes it! - k

What A Day!

Well, the day started early with Rylee waking up at 5-something, 6:00 and then again at 7:00, and she has been a handful since then. I woke up with a cold and I believe Rylee is suffering from it as well. She stayed home today with daddy and they both took some much-needed naps. When she woke up she was moody!! She would go from happy to sad for no reason, she would want something and then not want it, she would eat one bite of something and then decide she didn't like it, and so on and so on. At about 6:00 this evening we decided to go on a walk, and even though it is only 50 degrees here today she was finally happy! Mommy and Daddy could only handle about 30 minutes outside, so back in the house we came. I thought it would be fun to try on Halloween costumes, but as you can see she was not having it. So into the pj's and off to bed, where she is still currently screaming after being in bed for 40 minutes! To quote Grandpa Rick, "There are some days I would have traded them (kids) for a shiny penny!" That definitely sums up our day!

Pigtails

I have been waiting for the top of Rylee's hair to grow in, but then I realized she has plenty of hair in the back to do pigtails. So this morning I chased her around with the comb and some hair ties, and finally I got them in. I tried about three times to get them even, but putting a ponytail holder in a baby that is crawling away at top speed, not the easiest thing in the world! - k

The Zoo With The Camera

We went to the zoo again today, and this time I remembered the camera. We went with our neighbors and we had such a good time. Rylee is really starting to get what is going on at the zoo. She was pointing at the elephants, she watched the monkeys swing around the trees, and she was fascinated by the bears that were putting on a show for everybody. We hope the zoo is still open when cousin Megan comes in three weeks, so we can all go together! - k

Daddy's Magazine

I hope Daddy was done reading his magazine, because Rylee sure had a great time "reading" it this afternoon.

Tea with Kennedy

So I hijacked these pictures off of my neighbors blog, but they were too cute not to share with all of you. Kennedy is our sweet little neighbor who Rylee loves to play with, and Kennedy is so nice to Rylee. Kennedy refers to Rye-Rye as, "her baby." The other night I stopped by to say hi and the two girls started having a tea party in Kennedy's room. Trace took these great pictures of the girls playing together. - k

The Zoo

Okay so I was a complete failure and I forgot the camera today, but we went to Hogle Zoo with our friends Addie and Sadie. The three girls have so much fun together. The entire car ride up they were talking, sharing gold fish, chocolate covered raisins and drinks together. At the zoo they had fun pointing at the animals and riding on the train. One of the coolest things we saw was the Albino Alligator, he was sleeping right up next to the glass so we got a good look at him. We ate lunch at the zoo and the girls all had hot dogs and drank from animal sippy cups. Somehow none of them fell asleep all afternoon, but I have a feeling they are all sound asleep now (I know Rylee is). We had lots of fun and can't wait to go back soon!

Me and My Girl

It is not often that I make the blog, but Daddy was home today and took this cute picture of Rye and I. She was a little sad and fussy, so we snuggled and drank some apple juice for a little bit. - k

Discovering Her House

Everyday Rylee discovers something new in the house that is fun to play with, and of course Mom and Dad don't really want her playing with it. First it was the entertainment center, then the cabinet where we store her diapers/baby stuff, then the kitchen cabinets, and today it was the blinds. She walked into the entry way with her walker and stopped right by the window. She stood there and played with the blinds for a bit and then she was off to find something else to get into. -k

Playing in the Dirt

When we dug up some of our gravel in the front yard to build the wall we found some really nice topsoil, and we are saving it to use it around the yard. Today we were straightening up the garage and Rylee found the dirt to play in. We put her in some play clothes before we went outside so we just let her go at it. She had a great time and was quite a mess by the time we went inside! - k

Grilled Cheese

On our way to the football game last night I thought I better grab some food for Rylee, so we stopped at Sonic and got her favorite, Grilled Cheese. Instead of breaking it into pieces for her to throw everywhere, I tried giving her about 1/4 of the sandwhich to take bites out of. Well she thought she could fit all of it in in one bite, but her mouth was just not quite big enough. She eventually ended up pulling the entire soggy piece of sandwhich out and handing it to me, like I wanted it! We are going to half to work on taking bites! - k

Daddy's Flag Football Games

Daddy plays in a flag football league with his friends from work, so we went out to cheer them on last night. After their double header last night they are 3-0!! We saw Daddy make two interceptions and punt the ball inside the 1 yard line :)!! It got a little cold by the end, but we had fun watching!

Just Like My Daddy

Personally I think it looks uncomfortable, but Daddy and Rylee both sleep with their feet crossed.

Look What I Found!!!

About four months ago I rearranged my cabinets so there was one that had nothing breakable in it so Rylee could play with it. Well now that she is crawling she found the Tupperware cabinet yesterday. She walked into the kitchen with her walker and then crawled over to the cabinets and opened them both up. You would have thought she struck gold with the amount of squeals and clapping I heard from the kitchen. She sat over there and pulled everything out and then put it back it and so on and so forth for about 45 minutes. I am glad she only opened that cabinet because the other are not Rylee proof yet!! - k

Kitchen Chairs

At first I thought Rylee would not like crawling on the tile because it is so hard, but it doesn't stop her one bit. One of her new things to do is crawl under the table and push the kitchen table chairs around. From there she normally ends up playing with our shoes by the back door, and then who knows what she will discover next!!! - k

Annoucement!!!!

We have FOUR teeth now. The top left one came in last Friday night, and then I was brushing her teeth this morning and I can see the top right one is almost through the surface!! - k

4-Wheeler

Ever since Rylee went to Texas in May and rode Cousin Megan's mini 4-Wheeler we have wanted to get her one too. Last week we took some of Granna and Double G's birthday money and got Rye her own. I didn't realize the battery had to charge for 18 hours before first use, so I spent the entire first day pushing her around the house on it. Now the battery is charged and she loves it. She is still learning how to use the power button, but it doesn't seem to bother her. She likes her 4-Wheeler so much I have to hide it in the front bathroom or else she would be on it all day. Oh and I hope you don't mind naked baby, we hadn't gotten dressed yet the day I filmed this. - k

Dinner in the Canyon

After Swiss Days we found out Great Aunt Lynda and Uncle Rob were in town from Albuquerque, so we went and met them in for dinner. Matt took the kids up the river to the rope swing and I was trying to take pictures, so Great Uncle Dave was holding Rylee but she wasn't being very nice. She would play with him for a second and then cry "ma ma ma." Once she got Mama back we played a little peek-a-boo with the hood on her jacket and she was all better. - k

Swiss Days

Once a year there is a huge craft fair up the Canyon and Grandma Kathi and I decided to go see what it was all about. We took Jayden and Rylee with us and you can see how much they enjoyed it. Rylee crashed out about halfway through the booths and Jayden was still going strong when we got back to the car. We found some really cute things and had a great time! - k

Walker

Rylee is becoming more of a toddler each day. She loves to walk behind her walker now, she can cruise the entire downstairs. I have tried four or five times to capture the walking on video, but everytime I get the camera out she becomes Lead-Butt and falls and starts crawling. She is not stable enough to walk by herself yet, but she will walk along the furniture now and yesterday she did a couple circles around her activity table. - k
