The Wrapper Doesn't Stop Her

Today Rylee and I went to Kinko's to get a few things made. She was being really good and just walking around the store. I was watching her and listening to her squeaky shoes. Every now and then she would bring me something off the shelf and then I would go stick it back. She ventured off once to the other side of the counter, just out of my sight. I peeked around the corner a few times to check on her and she was just playing with a sign and talking to a man in the store. The Kinko's lady started asking me a few questions and explaining things, all of which took about a minute, and when I looked back at Rye she had found a Snickers bar and chewed through the wrapper. I quickly went over and removed it from her mouth and then bought the two of us a Snickers bar. It made Grandpa Rick proud that she chose a Snickers, because there was an entire candy display in the store to choose from and she picked his favorite. She is a smart girl! -k

Snack Time

After Rye's nap all she wanted was Grandpa and a snack, which meant she would not sit in her high chair. I found the least messy snack I could and let her, Grandpa and Grandma have snack time together.

Tea Party

This morning Rylee wanted to go upstairs with Grandma while she showered, so Grandma was sweet enough to let her play on the bathroom floor. After the shower I went upstairs to take my own shower and I walked in on a cute tea party happening. Rylee was pouring tea for Grandma and handing her the cup for a drink, then she would take a drink, and it was just too cute.

First Antibiotic

It is true, after 20 months of having a fairly healthy baby Rylee had to go on her first antibiotic on Wednesday. For about 2 weeks she had a cold and stuffy nose, but on Saturday it started to look like an infection. Come Wednesday morning I decided I better take her in to the doctor. After a quick examination Dr. Mumford let me know Rye had her first sinus infection. Her first antibiotic, Amoxicillin. The funny part about this is I have to keep a close eye on her prescription, because Daddy loves it. He was very excited to find out that she was getting the "pink, bubble gum flavored stuff." I guess it brought up some memories for him from the old days! She is doing much better already. Her energy level is up and her sinus's are much clearer.

She's Livin' Strong!

She loves to play with Lance Armstrong Bands since I can remember, but today I looked over and she was wearing it around. It would slip off every now and then and she would stop and put it back on before she moved again. -k

I Got Tagged

Erica tagged me in her last post, so I am now supposed to share 5 random facts about me. So here it goes . . .

1. When my Mom would put me in ski school I would cry hysterically until someone came and got me. Most of the time it was Mark or Jason, but I used to bribe the ski patrol workers with Skittles to come take me out.

2. For my 6th birthday a friend gave me a Barbie Doll and it made me cry. I never played with dolls.

3. Growing up I would do anything Travis told me to. He had me dipping everything from potato chips, to ham, to watermelon in ketchup. I wore the number 9 in soccer because he did. He had me convinced he was the coolest person ever -- man I was young and impressionable.

4. My guilty pleasure is the TV show Gilmore Girls. If anyone ever wants to get me the series on DVD, I would love it!

5. I cannot sleep with any part of my body hanging over the side of the bed. I am not ashamed to admit that I am still afraid something will grab it in the middle of the night.

Now I tag: Laura, Tarah, Trace, Shauna, Michelle, and Granna

If you do not have a blog email me your random facts and tag some of your friends.

Happy Valentines Day!

We spent our Valentines Day together as a family and we had a great time. When Daddy got home from work we headed straight over to a wedding reception for one of his friends, and from there we order Chili's-To-Go. We had a wonderful evening together and decided since we were all dressed up a bit from the wedding we should take some pictures with our little valentine. We hope everyone had a wonderful Vanlentine's Day.

Stroller

I promised Rylee a long time ago when she learned how to walk I would get her a doll stroller, so off to Target we went this past weekend. She loves it. She puts everything in the stroller from baby little to her drink to toys and pushes them all over the house. The only problem is that every now and then she gets going a little to fast on the tile.

She Has The Sillies

I was trying and trying to get her to sit still so I could get another cute picture like the previous one, but she was like a Mexican Jumping Bean! If she wasn't standing up and walking at me, she was flopping backwards and laughing. For those of you who have not seen Rylee's tongue yet, here it is--in every picture. Over Christmas she started sticking it out no matter what she is doing. She has a space where her teeth haven't came in yet, and she sticks her tongue out though there all day.

Cheesy Smile

Every time I take Rylee's picture I ask her to say cheese, and just recently she has started doing it back. Today I got the cutest picture of her and her cheesy smile. I had the camera out just to take some fun pictures of her playing and she was just hammin' it up!

A Good Listener

Lately Rylee has really started to grow up before our eyes. It is often hard for us to see changes in her because we see her every day, but lately it seems like over night she is turning into a toddler. She has started to understand even more and respond to things we ask her to do. She has become very helpful when it is time to change her diaper, she will lay down as close as possible to her changing pad. The other day she went and got it for me so I would change her diaper!

Just Not The Same

Daddy and Rylee play a silly little tickle game that she absolutely loves, so this morning I thought lets try it. When I tickled her she gave me the ultimate courtesy laugh. Seriously it was the most pathetic thing I had ever heard, it was like she was saying, "good try Mom, but just let Dad do it." I have decided to not try and do any of their games anymore, I will leave them strictly for Daddy!!

The Hit of the Night

Uncle Jeff was in town for work this week and stopped by last night to hang out and play. After he took Rylee and I out to a yummy dinner we came back to the house to let Rylee and Uncle Jeff play with each other. I was chopped liver, she just wanted to hang out with her Uncle. She wanted to read a book, so she walked over to where they are kept, grabbed a few and walked them right over to Uncle Jeff. Jeff was so nice and patient reading to Rye. She would listen for 20 seconds then walk off and come back for another page. She was so excited to see Uncle Jeff and she cannot wait to play with him again. Thank you for coming by and playing with Rye Jeff! - k

Sacked Out

On Monday morning Rylee woke up just before seven asking to eat, so the two of us went downstairs and she ate some breakfast. After breakfast she was playing a being nice, so I asked Grandpa if I could leave her downstairs and go pack without her help. Grandpa agreed of course, but shortly after I left she started fussing so Grandpa picked her up to snuggle for a bit. Well I guess she was not quite ready to wake up, because after packing and taking my shower this is how I found the two of them. I love how Rylee is just flopped over the side of the chair. The two of them slept for close to an hour and a half until Grandpa decided he had to get ready for work. I know he would have sat there all day with her if he could have, they were so cute together. - k

Uncle Scott Fan Club

I found this picture on my camera today, and forgot I had taken it. Grandma Kathi likes to sit on the edge of the mat when Uncle Scott wrestles and Megan goes with her. Well Rylee was standing and playing with Aunt Erica when she realized Grandma and Megan were over on the mat. All of the sudden Erica and I were chopped liver and Rylee turned around and walked all the way over to Grandma Kathi. Grandma Kathi had her hands full trying to video tape Scott's match while wrestling the two little girls by herself. - k

Fun With Grandma

Grandma Kathi was so good with these two toddlers for hours on end for days in a row! On moving day Grandma Kathi kept the two girls so we could all move and unpack without worrying about what the little tots were getting into. The weather was gorgeous so Grandma took the girls outside and played with sidewalk chalk. Grandma was the artist, but the girls took the opportunity to color a bit themselves. Both girls have had a bit of a runny nose lately, so Rylee also helped Grandma with cleaning her own. - k

Cousin Twins

Every Thursday Cousin Megan goes to school and this past week Rylee got to go with her. Grandma Kathi and I were in charge of getting the girls ready and off to school, so we thought we would have them wear the same outfit and be cousin twins! They were so cute with matching clothes and hair styles. Megan did a great job at school, but Rylee did not really like school very much. The teacher said she was a little fussy and wanted to be held most of the time, hopefully she will start to like school more as she gets older. - k

Uncle Scott, District Champion

We took a break from painting and moving on Friday to go watch Uncle Scott win the District Wrestling Tournament. Rylee and Megan were so cute cheering Uncle Scott on and playing with every person at the tournament. This was mine and Rylee's first all day wrestling event, but it was lots of fun to see Uncle Scott win the tournament and move on to Regionals on Friday. - k

We're Back and We're Freezing

Wow what a fun trip we had to Texas. Rylee and Megan played so well together and I know she is missing Megan already. Rylee was little miss walker down there, walking all over the wrestling tournament, Grandma Kathi's house, and Aunt Erica's new house. Erica and I spent most of our time painting, moving and unloading boxes, while the girls got to play with Grandma. Grandma was so sweet to watch the girls everyday so we could get a ton done in Erica's house. We enjoyed temperatures in the 70's and 80's, while Daddy was digging out of a foot and a half of snow! We wish we could have spent more time, but we sure are excited to be home with our Daddy. - k
