New Cousin

Uncle Jason and Aunt Heather had their little boy last night, and he is so cute. They named him Wyatt. He was 6 pounds 9 ounces and 19 inches. Everyone is healthy and happy, and we cannot wait to come meet him in August.

Birthday Party

This year we were struggling with an idea for Rylee's party, and my friend Shannon recommended a place called Jungle Jim's Playland. We went over and checked it out one day and booked it, and it was a hit. The place is an indoor amusement park for younger kids. From the looks of it every kid had a blast. The rides were really fun, I think the favorite was the roller coaster. It went forward and then backwards, but that was the fun part this thing went SO fast. When I first saw it go I was shocked and was thinking Rylee could fly out, but every kid wanted to keep going on the roller coaster over and over. After an hour of rides and games, we brought the kids over for pizza, presents, and cake. Rylee got some wonderful presents, we are so grateful for everything. Overall I think it was a very successful party!

Silly Girls

We usually have one of our kid chairs in the toy room and one downstairs, well the girls were struggling to share today, so Uncle Jeremy brought the other one down. Then they sat in the chairs and pulled funny faces at each other. This was prior to the birthday party today, and we were lucky enough to get naps out of both girls soon after this.

Princess

You would think when we got home at 9:15 last night after our long day of shopping, the girls would have crashed, but NO! The two girls found the princess stuff last night and were running all around dressed as princesses. We did not know how Rylee would do with the sandals on, but she slid her little feet in there and off she went! She did not have any problem. She was on the carpet at first and when she it the tile and the shoes made noise, she was so excited. We had to peel the clothes off of the girls to put them to bed.

A Long, Fun Day

Sunday was a very full, fun day. It started with breakfast in Park City and then we went to the Alpine Slide. Megan squealed the entire way down, she absolutely loved it. Sadly, Rylee cried the whole way because she was so sleepy. The two girls fell asleep between the slide and the outlets, about 15 minutes, and unfortunately that is all both of them slept all day. We then spent about 5 hours shopping at the outlets, but it was a very successful five hours for everyone. From the outlets we headed to the golf course for a very good dinner. After dinner the girls got to go on a ride in the golf cart!

Grandma's Prep Sink

Rylee was so obsessed with water on the trip that when she was not in the pool she found water somewhere to play with. She took showers, baths, but her favorite place was Grandma's Prep Sink. Usually she just sat on the edge and leaned over and splashed the water, but one night Grandma stripped her and let her sit right in the sink. She was in heaven. Then Grandma taught her how to dunk her head under the faucet, she loved it. She was in that sink many more times.

She's 2!

Rylee's second birthday was a crazy one. It started on the night of the 27th as the two of us boarded our red-eye flight home from Kona. It was really hard to leave Grandma and Papa, but we had a house full of visitors waiting for us in Utah. Rylee was awesome on the flight, she slept the entire way. We had a layover a very quick stop in Los Angeles, and then boarded our flight home that she slept the entire time too. She was very excited to see her Daddy when we got home, but she was still really tired! When we got home she was excited to find out Cousin Megan, Aunt Erica, Uncle Jeremy, and Grandma and Grandpa were in town! The two girls were so cute when they saw each other, pointing and smiling at one another, and they haven't stopped having fun. I cannot believe this little girl is two already! She has been so much fun and we cannot wait for her to be a big sister.

More Pool with Papa

After we picked up Papa from school Rylee thought she and Papa needed to swim together, and Papa was more than willing to go with them. The two of them have so much fun, and Papa is so sweet to let her splash and dunk him as much as she wants to. I do not know what we are going to do without the pool in a few days, she is going to miss it so much.

Picnic at the Pool

While Papa went to school yesterday Rylee, Grandma and I went to the kid pool at had a picnic at the pool. Rylee played in the pool for over an hour and a half, and was not too interested in taking a break to eat. She is such a water nut!

Walk in the Wind

Grandma and Papa's new community pool is almost finished, so we took a walk the other night to check out the progess. There is an enormous family pool and hot tub and then an adult only pool and hot tub, looks like it will be lots of fun. The funny thing was it was so windy Rylee couldn't even walk, so we all took turns carrying her.

From beach to Pool

Since we were not a huge fan of the ocean, we headed over to the pool! She had much more fun.

The Beach and Ocean

After a nap and picking up Papa from school we went down to the beach. Rylee was just fine in the water as long as Papa was close. She had fun dunking Papa under the water and splashing him lots! The one thing she was not a fan of, the SAND! We got out of the water and went to play with our beach toys, but she didn't make it off of the beach chair. I stood her up in the sand once and she started staring at her feet like something awful had happened. She proceeded to open my diaper bag, take out a diaper wipe, climb back on the beach chair, and then start wiping her feet. She decided she could play with her toys on the chair!

Lunch at Hard Rock Cafe

After we dropped Papa off at continuing education, we headed into town for a long day of shopping. Mostly groceries and errands, but we did do a little fun shopping and had a great lunch at Hard Rock. The food was good but the view was the best part. Rylee had fallen asleep just before we got to lunch so she was pretty tired most of the time.

Snuggling Grandma

I know Papa is dominating the blog, but from here on out there are quite a few Grandma appearances. Rylee loves looking through her quiet book, and the other night she and Grandma must have gone through the book 20 times!

Splashing Papa

Yes, Grandma is here on this trip too, but Papa has class the next few days so she has been soaking up her Papa time. Today in the pool the two of them had a water fight it was quite funny to watch. Rylee held her own just fine!

A Walk to the Beach

This morning Papa, Rylee and I jogged/walked to the beach together. We did not know how Rylee would react to the sand and ocean, but she loved it. She had a lot of fun letting the water run up over her toes, but she had more fun washing her feet and hands in the spout. After our walk she took a nice long nap! When I have time I will upload videos.

Dinner With Papa

Can you think of a better place to eat dinner, look at the view! Grandma and Grandpa's view is absolutely gorgeous out of their condo. You can see the ocean, the golf course, and gorgeous sunsets. Last night Rylee and Papa ate dinner together outside and I snap this picture and thought it was too pretty not to post.

The Kid Pool

Over at the other condo there is a little kid pool that Rylee absolutely loved. She found a cute little friend, Gwenyth, to play with, and the two of them played for over an hour and a half. If you can tell by Rylee's hair she went all the way under, oops, but she came up just fine not even one cough. We also tried out the floaties on her today, and she did pretty well as long as Grandma was within two inches of her!

Pool Time With Papa

The first thing Rylee wanted to do when she woke up at 2:30am on Sunday was find Papa. I informed her we needed to go back to sleep and then she could find Papa, and she did. When she woke up all she wanted to do was go in the water, she loves the pool. The two of them had so much fun. She showed Papa how she could jump into the pool and Papa taught her how the climb out. The funniest thing was she stopped letting him count to three, she would get out of the pool, walk up to the edge, say "tree" and walk in, good thing Papa was always watching. She did get an ouchie on her toe once, and she had to come show me.

One Long Airplane Ride

Rylee and I both made it to Hawaii alive and we even still like each other. The first flight to LA was great, we had an empty seat next to us and she sat there. She colored in the entire flight, it was great. We had a very short layover in LA where we had to speedwalk to our next gate in another terminal, but we made it and we were both ready to nap. We boarded a completely full flight, every seat, and we were on the aisle of the very last row which ended up being perfect. She slept for 45 minutes and then was up running every where, but since we were in the last row the flight attendant was so sweet to let her run the galley in the back the whole flight. She and the flight attendant were best friends! We arrived to a little girl sprinting 20 yards to find her PaPa and screaming at him the whole way. No pictures from this day because I could not handle the camera and chasing the little girl, but we made it and are doing well.

Special Birthday Fun

Today one of my players and her mom came by to play with Rylee and me. We started with playing at the house and opening a present they brought Rylee. The present was full of cute clothes, all Hawaii themed for our trip next week, so nice. After a little play and opening presents we went out for a nice lunch at Applebee's. When lunch was finished we headed over to the farm at Thanksgiving Point. It was really fun at the farm today because there were little baby animals all over. We saw baby goats, chickens, rabbits, donkeys, and horses. We tried to get Rylee to go on a pony-ride and she freaked out. She was clinging to my body with every muscle she has, I could not help but giggle at her. So, instead of the pony-ride we went on a wagon ride. The day ended with Rylee feeding Jeannie her scoop of ice cream, and then Rylee taking a nice long nap from all the fun she had. Thank you for a fun day guys.

First Hair Cut

This evening we took Rylee to get her first hair cut. While she does not have a ton of hair yet, it was starting to get a little straggly and dead on the ends. We took her to a cute little place called Cookie Cutters. She got to pick out a movie to watch and she sat in a cute pink car to get her hair cut. She couldn't hold her head still for a minute, but the lady did a great job chasing her around to cut. By the end she was signing "finished" to us, but she was so well behaved for the cut. We just had her even everything out and trim Rye's bangs, and it looks great.

Early Birthday Present

Grandma Michelle asked me to pick up a birthday present for Rylee the other day, and we decided this water/sand table looked really fun. Today was a very warm day and after we had ran our errands we tried to go to the park, but there was a party, so we opened her present two weeks early - Thanks Grandma and Papa! She had so much fun helping put the toy together and then playing with it. I put the toy on the back cement pad and she climbed down the stairs behind me to play with it. She started in her clothes, but after a few minutes she was soaked so we changed her into her swim suit. After a little over an hour she was still going strong and we ended up having to pull her away to come in and eat dinner. Thank you for our present, it will be greatly enjoyed all summer.

Thank You Papa!

The other night Papa called and was sad because he was trying to come visit this weekend, and unfortunately he was not going to be able to make it. Everyone was very bummed, but Papa came up with a great idea - bring Rylee and I to Hawaii with them. At first we did not believe that it would really happen--Rye's Daddy even told Papa that he would eat a shoe if it really happened--well, Daddy, eat up! Papa is flying Rylee and I over to Hawaii on the 21st and then back on the 27th, the day before her birthday so she still flies for free. I am a bit nervous about the flight all by myself with her, but I'm sure it will all be worth it when we land in beautiful Hawaii. Papa we are so grateful and so excited to come play with you and Grandma. Rylee and I are already thinking of the fun we will have! Thanks!

*** Papa wanted to put in a disclaimer - He used Delta miles that he was worried about losing, and my brothers all work full-time and would not be able to come.
