First Pedicure

Rylee was spoiled this weekend by everyone! She even got her first pedicure from Grandma Kathi and Granna! I can't begin to explain how many compliments I have gotten on her cute painted toe nails, and after they compliment them they ask how in the world did I paint those tinsy toe nails. I quickly correct them and let them know the Grandma's tagged teamed it, I can barely paint my own let alone those little ones! -k

"I Don't Know"

When Rylee was in Texas she started doing the "I don't know" pose. She puts her hands out to the side and tips her head to side and stares back at you, every now and then she even makes a little noise when she does it. Every time I ask her where something is she makes the pose. Yesterday she ran out of food on her tray (she had eaten it all) and she smacked the tray to get my attention and then did her little pose, I busted up laughing. She did it with Uncle Jeremy this past weekend quite a bit and the picture is of the two of them doing it together!! - k

Missing My Girl

I often steal Rylee from Daddy and head out to California for a weekend of fun, but this weekend Daddy did it to me. Daddy took Rylee to Texas to visit the whole gang, while I have had two days full of soccer! Daddy had a busy day yesterday going to the Colonial Golf Tournament and then followed that up by the Rangers vs. Red Sox game. Rylee stayed behind for the golf tournament, but she got to go to her first Rangers game, and Grandma Kathi even got her a Rangers outfit! They are having a great time and I am jealous, but I am excited that Rylee gets to see all her family!! - k

Serious Face

Rylee got a hold of a Sudoku book yesterday and it entertained her for an hour. It did not matter what I tried to switch her for or what else was going on around her, she was into the book! She would thumb the pages, open and close the cover, and even rip entire pages out! Her expression never changed the entire time and that is what made me laugh. Generally she is so animated, but not with her book she was concentrating really hard (on what I don't know). I tried and tried to get her to smile or laugh, but the only other expression I could get was crying when she dropped her book and couldn't reach it. - k

Soccer Addict

This morning Rylee and I were snuggling on the floor and playing when all of the sudden she was frozen on the TV. The TV had been on for about thirty minutes and she hadn't stopped to watch it once, so I thought weird what is she watching? I turned my head toward the TV and there was a highlight of a soccer game on Sports Center and she had stopped to watch it. As soon as the soccer highlight was over she was back to playing with me and didn't pay attention to the TV again. She is a smart little girl and she sure made me proud! - k

Uncle Jeff's Pictures

Uncle Jeff has an exciting new job where he gets to travel to Alaska. He sent us some beautiful pictures of some of the places he has seen and we told him we would post them for everyone to see. We hope you enjoy. - k

Funny Story

I had soccer practice the other day and one of the Mom's from the team I coach watched Rylee for me. She has two little boys that helped her entertain Rylee. When the 6 year old got home from school he looked at Rylee and then asked his mom, "Mom, what is wrong with her arms?" His Mom couldn't help but chuckle and say nothing she is just chubby. Every time I see the little boy now he likes to come and touch Rylee's arms like they are the coolest thing he has seen! It made me laugh! - k

Train Video

Rylee doesn't get nearly as excited in this video as she did in a few others that I took, but she does do a few of her new funny things in this one that I thought everyone would enjoy. She has started waving with her hand lately at everything, and she stares at everything with her mouth wide open like, "wow what is that?" Daddy likes to quote Mary Poppins when she does this, "Rylee, we are not Cod Fish," and she will generally smile at Daddy and laugh. Oh and please don't mind the shaky camera, I was trying to move the train so it could keep going.- k

A New Train

It was a sad day two weeks ago when we realized the train broke, it only played 1 out of its 8 songs, so I got on the phone. I have been inspired to voice my complaints/concerns by Aunt Erica (she does such a good job she is always getting new/free things), so when our train got sick I called Fisher Price. They said to just send back the engine part and we would receive a whole new train. So, I mailed it back and yesterday our new train arrived!! Now we have duplicates of animals and train parts, but Rylee loves them so it is not a problem. She was so excited when I got the train out of the shipping box she was playing with it in the packaging. After I got the train out she played with it for almost an hour before her nap. She knows how to make it move and sing, but the only problem is it travels so far she gets frustrated because she can't move after it, maybe this will help her learn how to crawl. She also loves to watch the train as it comes towards her, she squeals and starts flapping her arms. We are so glad our train is back. - k

Manipulated by a 10 month old

I have to tell on myself here a bit. Lately Rylee has been a stinker when it is time to go to bed. We start putting PJ's on and the screaming starts and doesn't stop. The other night she cried for an hour in her bed and I had enough, so I went and rescued her. We were snuggling and then all the sudden she started to play. She knows how to get me going. She started blowing rasberries, clicking her tongue, giving me hugs and kisses, clapping, and saying "Mama." Daddy came inside from working in his yard and just laughed and said to Rylee, "You sure know how to get your Mom don't you." At that moment I was like, "Oh crap she sure does." She owns me. She is so cute lately and she gets even cuter when she wants something. However, I finally caved in and after twenty minutes of play time I put her back to bed. She has done this to me three or four times in the last month and it tickles me every time she does. I can't get over how well she already manipulates me, the little stinker! - k

Kitchen Towels and Oven

This morning while I was ironing, yes I actually ironed, Rylee was playing in her walker. She is just starting to figure out how to move around in the walker, and today she found my kitchen towels. She had so much fun pulling the three of them off the oven. I would put them back on and out the hand would go to grab them off again. Once she pulled the towels off she realized she could see her reflection in the oven and she started squeeling and waving at the baby. - k

Daddy's Curls

I tried my best to get a picture of her curls, but this was the best I could get. Her hair is getting so long and thick in the back, we just love it. I brush it out and within a minute the ends are flipping up and curling in every direction. We have a pretty good feeling she is going to have her daddy's curls! The other picture is her playing with her new favorite toy. That is right a tupperware bin, measuring cups, cooking cutters, and measuring spoons what else does a baby need. She loves to dump the entire bin out and then refill it. I love it too, because it entertains her for atleast an hour.

Two Teeth

I don't know if any of you have ever tried to get pictures of a babies teeth, but wow it is sure a trick! I did my best to capture the new tooth that came through Sunday night and the first one. The other picture is just a cheezy smile Rye gave me that I though everyone would enjoy! - k

Shakin'/Dancin'

Rylee is getting much better at holding onto things and standing on her own. Today Daddy stood her up against the exersaucer and she started shaking it. She is still a little bit wobbly, but since her foot is still an infant size 1,I guess she is balancing pretty well. She just cracks us up with the new things she comes up with each day. -k

Bundled up again :(

It has gotten SO cold again that I had to dig out some winter clothes and bundle Rylee up again. These pictures are of her pulling her new silly face. She tips her head all the way back and grins, i get the giggles watching her every time. - k

Play Group Inspiration

I have decided it is time for me to find some people for this silly little girl to play with, and since my friends all had babies at the same time last year we are going to start our own play group. This brilliant idea came after Rylee and Benjamin played together for an hour the other day and neither of them made an unhappy noise once. They had so much fun watching what each other could do, and it was really fun to watch. So, we are going to start with once a week and three kids and see who else we can find to join in! - k
