Best Buddies

Rylee and Grandpa Steve were best friends all weekend. If we were at the store no one else could push her in the stroller and if we were playing on the floor Grandpa had to play too. She even wanted Grandpa at 6:30 the other morning when he was getting ready to leave for golf and she was getting a drink of milk, so we had to go out and give Grandpa a kiss before she would go back to sleep. Grandpa lets Rylee get away with anything, like all good Grandpa's do! She gets to play with his cell phone, eat Junior Mints, and even push the buttons on his computer. I know she misses him and Grandma already and she can't wait to see them again. - k

Crawling

I know I can't believe it either, but it is true Rylee is crawling. She still has to be motivated to go get something to do it, but she is getting so good. She crawls her best when going to get Grandpa Steve, the two of them are the best of buddies this weekend. She hasn't quite figured out the difference in "dada" and "papa," so Grandpa gets called "dada" half the time too, but I don't think he is complaining! The crawling is leading to much more movement as well. She can now pull herself to her feet and she can walk behind her walker and along furniture. Oh and thank you Granna and Double G for the new book, she loves to honk the horn on it!! Hope you enjoy!! - k

Karah Joanne Richardson

Rylee has a new cousin, she is no longer the youngest baby on either side of the family! Aunt Karlie had Karah Joanne on Wednesday, August 22nd at 10:59 a.m. She was 18 inches long and weighed 6 lbs. 8 ounces. We have been lucky enough to get to see Karah two times already and Rylee is excited to play with Karah in a few months. - k

The New Wall

About two weeks ago Grandpa Rick and Uncle Scott flew in to help Matt build a retaining wall on the side of our house. The wall looks so good, and I have gotten several compliments from neighbors. Matt finished the rest of it up today and still needs to even out a few areas where he added the left over gravel, but overall it is done. We even had a special visit from Uncle Jeff and he lended a helping hand for the day. Thanks to all those that helped, the wall looks so nice. - k

What happens when I leave her alone...

I try to leave Rylee alone a couple times a day to play, and this is what I came back to today. I had gone down to the basement to cover a few things with garbage bags, and when I came back this is what I found. The wipe bin was half full and after she got done with it the bin was completely empty. The baby girl was happy and playing and once I got back she was sad and wanted her mommy. - k

So sad, but still obedient

Rylee had woken up from her nap and she wanted to play with her toys, or atleast she was acting like it. She kept point at her toys and saying "dat, dat," so I put her down and wanted her to sit up for the camera, but she was not having it. She absolutely lost it, but the funny part is she actually sat up still when I asked her to. I loaded another video of her not screaming her head off too. Silly Silly girl. - k

New Game

Rylee has found the entertainment center and she loves it. Luckily everything is still too heavy for her to pull off, but she sure can push every button and open the drawer. Another favorite game is opening and closing drawers. She has so much fun opening the drawer and putting things in it and then closing it back up. The only problem is sometimes her little fingers do not get out the way fast enough. - k

Too Cute

Back in February Grandma made Rylee this cute dress, but when we went to wear it the first time it was too long. Grandma shortened it for her last week and we were finally able to wear the dress to church today. The amazing thing was that she left her bow in her hair all day at church, but within 1 minute of being home she pulled it out. - k

Accomplishments

Lately Rylee seems to be able to do a new thing every day. First it was rocking on her knees, then it was pulling herself up to her knees, next she learned how to sit up by herself at Grandma and Grandpa's last weekend, and then this morning she was playing and she pulled herself up all the way to her feet. I was sitting on the couch talking to a neighbor and I watched Rylee pull herself up to her knees (not a huge deal she does it all the time now), but then all of the sudden she was on her feet and took two steps so she was standing straight up, I was so excited! She is developing so quickly physically right now, I have a feeling it won't be long until we are chasing after her everywhere we go. However, she is not just developing physically right now her personality gets cuter by the day too. She is so much fun. She is always smiling and laughing with us. She has learned to point, say please in sign language and say lots of new words that only mommy and daddy can really understand. I have tried two or three times to get her sitting up on video, so hopefully by the end of the weekend we will have a video of her doing it to share with all of you. - k

Pottery Barn Sack

Who needs toys? Rylee had so much fun playing with Daddy and her sack last night. Daddy would put it on Rylee's head and then run and hide. When she would pull it off she would look all over for him, and when he would come get her she would get big giggles. - k

Dinner on the Plane

Well I don't know how healthy of a dinner this was, but Rylee sure loved it. She got some cheese crackers from the flight attendant and she ate the entire package of 6. It was a little bit messy and crumby all over, but oh well it kept her entertained for a good thirty minutes on the flight. We had a great trip, but we are so excited to be home with our daddy! - k

Grandpa and Rylee

Last time we went to California and I made a blog post Grandpa's picture didn't make the blog, so this time we are making sure Grandpa gets some pictures in here! He and Rylee had so much fun playing this trip. One day he let Rylee shake a cup of ice all over his lap and then he would refill it and let her shake again, she had so much fun. Yesterday they played in the pool together and splashed and threw balls all over the pool. She can't wait to see him again in 10 days! - k

New Cousin Kami

Rylee and her to be cousin Kami have so much fun playing together. Rylee loves Kami to carry her around and play with her. The other night they had so much fun swimming with Jason in the pool. We wish we could play with Kami more often! - k

Hank and Rylee

Rylee had some friends over last week after our bike ride. Rylee, Avery and hank had a great time playing together. Rylee and Hank are four months apart, but Hank is already bigger than our petite little girl. The two of them had so much fun playing on the activity table together. - k

Pizza

When Grandpa Rick and Uncle Scott were in town we had pizza for dinner, and the next day when we were all having it for lunch Rylee wanted her own piece too. She got mad when I started to break a piece up and give her bites, so I thought why not and I gave her her own piece. As you can tell by the pictures she was ready for a nap, but not before pizza! - k

Worn Out

Saturday was a long day for all of us, but especially Rye. We had to be at a golf tournament by 7:00 am and we did not get home until almost 2:00 pm. Rylee was so good the entire time she rode in the golf cart with me for nearly 4 hours straight, but when we got home she was exhausted. She fell asleep in her crib and then woke up about 2 hours later and Daddy went and got her, well she wasn't quite ready to be awake. She slept another 2 hours on Daddy's arm and then we finally had to wake her up a little after 6:00 pm. – k

Blowing Kisses

Rylee has learned how to blow kisses off of her mouth now. She started blowing kisses a little over a month ago, but she threw them off of her fourhead! After two weeks of practice she started throwing them from her mouth. Whenever someone tells her "I love you" she blows them kisses back, she is so sweet! - k
