She Is So Close

It seems as though every day she gets a little closer to being able to walk on her own. Aunt Laura asked me the other day how her walking was going and asked if she could see her do it, and then I realized I had not posted a video of her walking yet. Most of you saw her totting a little at Christmas, but she has gotten much better since then. -k

Can We Come To Texas Today?

Rylee and I are headed to Texas on Wednesday, but we are ready to come now. This morning we went to the gym with our friends, Hank and Avery, and then to Costco. When we went into Costco it was cloudy but the sun was still trying to shine, but by the time we came out this is what it looked like outside. Needless to say we will not be leaving the house again today.

America's Funniest Home Video's

With the current writers strike we are struggling to find something good on TV. After the golf tournament was over, and the Mavericks game, Daddy found an episode of American's Funniest Home Video's, so we watched. Rylee sat down in her chair and watched with us, even laughing as we laughed and pointing at the funny events on TV. When they were doing the part dedicated to animals she was extremely excited about recognizing the puppies on the screen. She also has her own remote, don't tell her it doesn't work, that she kept pointing at the TV every time Daddy would use his remote. - k

Post Pony-Tail Hair

I couldn't help but take a picture of my little mad scientist! When we take her hair out of all the ponytails it just goes in every direction no matter what we do. She is so funny when you take the ponytail holders out she rubs and scratches her head like it feels so good.
The outfit... She crawled upstairs this evening and came back to me holding two bathing suit bottoms. I had both of them on over her pants but we had a little accident and had to wash the pants and one of the swim suit bottoms. After the accident she turned into a little summer baby in her suit. Oh and it is currently 35 degrees outside!

Watching Golf With Daddy

Rylee was extremely excited to have Daddy home after work today, she couldn't get enough of him. She sat still next to Daddy and watched the golf tournament for about 20 minutes, long enough to see that Tiger Woods is still amazing! Daddy is hoping this interest in golf means that it won't be long until Rylee is out there golfing with him!

Favorite Seat

Our friend's let us borrow their extra car seat while cousin Megan was here, and I had been meaning to wash it for a few weeks. So, on Wednesday I finally brought the car seat in and washed the cover. The car seat was just sitting in the family room and Rylee had a great time climbing in and out of the car seat. By the end of the day she was able to buckle herself in the car seat. In this picture she was sitting in the seat watching an episode of Sesame Street, and she was really watching for the first time. Maybe I should bring her car seat inside for her to play in more often.

Build A Bear

Our bear, Doodle, is upstairs sleeping with Rye, so pictures of Doodle will come tomorrow. Rylee's friend Kennedy is moving to Arizona this week, so last Friday they had a birthday/going away party for her. We went to the Gibson's house and had some pizza and cake, and then we all headed down to Build-a-Bear to make bears to remember Kennedy. We named our bear Doodle after Kennedy, it is her nickname! Trace took this picture of Rylee as we arrived at Build-a-Bear. Thank you to her for remembering her camera!!

My Reward

After shoveling an average of 18 inches of snow off the driveway yesterday in my mesh tennis shoes, I wrote my husband an email informing him of my new need. I guess he felt sympathetic for me, because he took me to REI tonight and got me a great pair of boot. I will no longer freeze my toes off or slip and slide down the driveway. What a great husband I have!!

What happens while I blog

I was blogging my previous two posts, and I started wondering where Rylee had ventured off to. I was sitting at the kitchen table and I could hear her but i could not see her, so off I went to see what she want into. I found her behind the over sized chair in the family room. She had managed to wiggle herself behind the chair to play with the toys that were still behind it. Most of the toys are now upstairs, but there are a few still back there and she found them. She is currently sitting back there playing with the ice cream set that goes to her kitchen. No complaints here, she is happy and quiet! -k

Dat, Dat, Dat

Rylee is now smart enough to know where we hide things from her. Her 4-wheeler is stored in our front bathroom, because if it was out we would be chasing her on it all day. But, lately she had been crawling over to the bathroom door and asking for it. Today I was on the phone with Aunt Erica and I heard Rylee pounding on the door yelling, "dat, dat, dat!" I asked her if she wanted to ride her 4-wheeler and she got extremely excited and started smacking the door even harder. I got it out for her and we road it around for about 20 minutes, until she decided it was more fun to hop off and push it. - k

Ah, Man!

On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I go to the gym at 8:30, so generally I do not look outside before I come downstairs. This morning I woke up got myself and Rylee ready, came down stairs and opened the garage to find this. My first thought was, 'ah man I am going to have to shovel all of this.' I went to the gym and this is a picture of what our driveway/street looked like when I got home. We live in a little bit of a snow drift area so we end up with more on our driveway than most. It is still snowing right now and the Weather Channel does not project it to stop until 7:00 tonight. Sounds like fun! - k

Baby Lucas

Rylee cannot keep her hands off of baby Lucas. He is such a good sport to let her play with him. She tried so hard to be soft and sweet to Lucas, but she just gets a little to excited around the baby. - k

Trouble

These two kids are trouble when they are together. They have so much fun playing together I wish they could do it more often! On Sunday the two of them climbed the stairs and started playing in Grandma and Papa's room. We kept checking on them on and off all evening, but every time an adult went into the room Bryson would tell us to leave! After a while the two of them had made quite a mess in Grandma's room, but they had fun doing it. - k

Cute Picture

This picture just makes me smile every time I look at it, so I thought I would share it with you. - k

Rocky

Uncle Jason and Aunt Heather surprised everyone on Sunday night with a new puppy that they named Rocky. For those of you who do not know Rylee is quite scared of dogs so I got her as close as I could to try to take a few pictures. She did give Aunt Heather some knuckles, but we could not get her to pet the puppy. - k

Sleeping Buddy

Rylee loves to sleep on Grandma. Every time Rylee woke up from a nap this past trip she would then fall back asleep on Grandma's lap. On Sunday Grandma went upstairs to get her and she was really sad, so Grandma sat down with her to snuggle. Next thing Grandma new Rylee was sound asleep on her lap. After I had finished making rolls for dinner downstairs I went to check on the two of them and I found Rylee fast asleep. Grandma asked me to go get her book so she wasn't completely bored, if I was her I would have taken a nap, but she read for an hour until Rye woke up!!

Still Papa's Girl

Rylee still loves her Papa so much. If Papa is in the room she wants to be playing with him or sitting next to him, and I can tell you Papa eats it up!! - k

"Please Don't Drink The Water"

Rylee had a great time in the hot tub, but I spent the entire time trying to get her to stop drinking the water. She would put her face under or stand next to the little waterfall and stick her face in it and start drinking. After she took a couple gulps she would of course start coughing from drinking to much, silly munchkin. Besides drinking the water she loved splashing. This time in the hot tub instead of splashing with her hands Rylee wanted to kick the water. She had such a great time, we will definitely be back out there in the next few days.

K&E Bow Factory is a Success

I did not expect this, but I have already had four people ask me where I get her bows so they can get some. They love the size and the style. I proudly told them that I make them, and the lady at Costco was like will you make me some and bring them buy and I will give you cash. Hmmmm.... maybe Erica and I are better at this bow making then we thought we were! - k

Bows Everywhere

The other day Erica and I were at a scrapbook store and a worker commented on the girls cute bows, and then said she makes her bows. After a brief explanation Erica and I thought 'hmm, we could do that.' The things we get ourselves into. Off we went to Jo-Ann's, Micheal's, Robert's, and Wal-Mart! We are crazy, but so far we have roughly 60 bows. Matt thinks we should go into business, we think he is the crazy one. We are extremely proud of ourselves and how well we are doing. If you have orders let us know, the K & E Bow Factory is still working hard.

Impromptu Temple Trip

We were on our way to pick up Daddy, but we were going to be about 30 minutes. My brain started thinking what could we do, and I asked cousin Megan, "Do you want to see the Temple?" Megan got really excited, so we took a quick detour to the Temple. The sister missionaries were even nice enough to snap a picture for us in the freezing cold.

Sleepy Girl

Last night we went to the Olive Garden for dinner. The funny thing is we had to go at 5 because the girls were so sleepy. Of course Rylee had to fall asleep as we got off the freeway by the restaraunt. I tried to keep her asleep as we went into the restaraunt but the music woke her up. She was still so sleepy as we sat at our table she couldn't even keep her little head up. -k

Silly Texan

Aunt Erica was watching the weather today and saw that it was 50 degrees, so she put on a short sleeve shirt and suggested we go to the park with the girls. I kind of smiled and suggested that a Utah 50 might not be the same as a Texas 50, but hey a huge storm is coming so lets get out of the house! We bundled up the girls and headed to a park. We were there less then 2 minutes when Erica pointed out how cold it was. She did not calculate the 47 mile per hour winds! While the girls did have a good time, the mommies were ready to go home in 5 minutes. -k

Eat Your Heart Out G'ma Kathi! :)

Erica, the girls and I all went after Christmas shopping the other day exclusively for Christmas decorations. At a cute consignment shop I found this adorable Snowman nativity, I had never seen anything like it. I wanted to get it so bad, but it was still 50 dollars. So, I sadly moved on through the store, but the whole time we were shopping I kept saying to Erica, "I want that nativity so bad, no it is still too much!" We went to check out and I opened my wallet to see a Visa Gift Card from my soccer team for Christmas. I looked at Erica like a kid and said, "I get to get it!!" We ran back to the back of the store and snagged it. Grandma Kathi, I am sorry to tell you it was the last one, so this cute nativity is going to have to stay at this house, sorry!! :) - k

She Loves Spaghetti

Yes I know I have done many messy baby posts, but I think they are just so cute. When we were at the cabin for Christmas one of our meals was spaghetti, and if you cannot tell by the picture and the empty tray Rylee loves spaghetti! - k

Kitchen

Thank you, Thank you Grandma and Papa for our kitchen, we love it! On Tuesday night Daddy put Rylee's kitchen together once the girls were in bed, so when they woke up both of them were so excited to play with it. Cousin Megan was eating breakfast when she noticed the kitchen, she stood straight up and said, "I want to play with that!" Rylee came downstairs next and I couldn't even get her in her highchair she went straight for the kitchen to play. We were not home much yesterday, but every single time the girls were home they were at the kitchen playing together! I have a feeling the two girls will spend a lot of time in the next week at the kitchen. - k

Snow Fun

At the cabin we got the Rylee all bundled up and went to play in the snow. She went on the sled with Daddy and Cousin Megan, she sat in it, and then she played in it with her hands for a bit. After about 20 minutes outside we had a little frozen Rylee, so we headed back inside.

Her Bike

Okay! We are home from California, we have the house cleaned (sort of), and I can finally sit down while the girls are asleep and share some of our Christmas Day photos with you. Santa brought Rylee a trike for Christmas, and we were not sure how she would react to it, but she loved it. She wanted to sit on it right away and then she wouldn't get off. We opened all of our stocking presents and a few others while sitting on the trike, eventually we had to hide the trike so we could finish presents. Later that night she wanted to ride it, but we have to push her a little longer until she grows a little bit more, so Mommy and Daddy took turns pushing her around. - k
