The Thorley's

We were so lucky last week to get to spend a lot of time with Dan and Lauren. On Tuesday we went out to lunch and hit some golf balls at the driving range, and then on Wednesday they came down and we all played X BOX together. The X BOX is a tradition of Matt's and Dan's from college. The two of them use to play FIFA Soccer until all hours of the night, while I was fast asleep next to them. Now that Dan is married we had to teach Lauren how to play! Rylee had so much fun with Dan and Lauren. Lauren read stories to her, while Dan tried to teach her to play X BOX as well. Rylee had a fun time running over Dan's foot with her stroller, and Dan was so kind to laugh and play with her! We sure miss our friends and will hopefully be out to visit them soon!

The Kids Table

We had our first official kids table tonight for Easter dinner. Cousin Jayden and Rylee had so much fun eating dinner together. The both ate really well, I must have made a good meal :)! While eating they shared food and gave knuckles many times.

Pictures Outside

What a perfect day for Easter, it was beautiful outside. I tried to get Rylee to sit still for a few pictures on the stairs out front, but all she wanted to do was run at me. She was all over the place outside today! Her favorite thing was playing in Daddy's rocks on the side of the house... that could be a mess this Summer

Easter Baskets

Rylee and Daddy both got some new clothes for Easter and I got new make-up, plus a few other things. Rylee loved going through the baskets for everyone and then carrying the around. She was much more fun this year at Easter!

My Reader

I was busying trying to finish some work today when Rylee woke up from her nap. I asked her to play for a few more minutes then I would come and read a story to her. Well I guess she gave up on me!

Missing Papa

This little girl needs Tax Season to be OVER, I am sure Papa wouldn't mind! Every single time my phone rang today Rylee would perk up, look and me and say "Papa?" So, after her second nap we called Papa and left him a message! Papa called us back quickly and he too misses his Rye. I sure hope they get to see each other soon, because it eats at my heart every time I hear her sweet little voice say, "Papa." So, to both Papa's, please come soon so this little girl can get a Papa fix!

Can I Get In?

I couldn't keep this cute girl from climbing in the shower today. She would start at the front and reach up at me. I would tell her no and so she would move to the back. After a few times of this, I decided my shower needed to quickly end before she was soaked completely.

Bubbles and The Park

A family friend of Matt's is in town to visit and what a fun day we had with Caity. She, Aunt Karlie, Jayden and Karah came down to play with us! We treated Caity to her first trip to Cafe' Rio, and then we came back to play at the house. It was such a nice day that we could not just sit inside, so we headed to the park! Caity found some really neat bubbles at Wal-Mart the other day and shared them the kids. Rylee had a great time chasing the bubbles, watching them blow past her, and she even tried to blow them with Caity. After bubbles Rylee ventured over to the park and played all by herself. She climbed the stairs and then she even scooted herself right down the slide! I am really excited that Spring is starting to come around, because we love being outside together.

Walk to the Waterfall

At the entrance to Grandma and Papa's neighboorhood there is a waterfall, and Bryson was promised if he was good today he could walk down to it this evening. After dinner the whole gang loaded up and went on a stroll down to the waterfall. Rylee of course had to hang out with her favorite person while we were down there, so I took the chance to snap a few cute pictures of her and Papa.

Cousin Bryson

These two are just too freaking cute together. They are just like brother and sister. He knows how to bug her, and she loves that she knows how to get under his skin. It has been really funny for Tarah and I to watch it all develop. Bryson asks everyday to come and play with Rylee and Aunt Krissa, so yesterday he came to play while Travis and Tarah went out to dinner. When they got to Grandma and Papa's house Bryce had fallen asleep, so Rylee took it upon herself to help wake him up. Once he was awake the two of them ran all over the house and worked up quite an appetite too! We sure hope we can make it back out for Cousin Bryce's birthday party in April, he invited us tonight!

Playing With Uncle Travis

We have been very lucky this trip to see all of our family a lot. Yesterday Uncle Travis and Rylee had a great time playing on the floor together. Rylee would hand him blocks and he would stack them, and then they started sticking toys on their heads together. I think both of them had a good time together. It sure makes us wish we lived by more of our family, so we could play like this all of the time.

Spring Weather

Well we left Daddy yet again this weekend, poor Daddy, but we came to California and it is 72 degrees! :) Saturday afternoon we were waiting for Papa to get home from a late 9 holes of golf, so we took Rylee to the backyard and let her run around for a bit. Without me even coercing her, she picked up the toy golf club and started smacking an old soccer ball around. She had a great time playing outside, and it made me really excited for the weather to warm up at our house! Please come sunshine, I do not want anymore snow!!

Grandma is Amazing

Earlier this year I was out shopping and fell in love with the Easter collection at Gymboree; however, I would not think of paying $60 for Rye's Easter dress. So, I sent a picture of the dress to Grandma Michelle asking, "Can you make this?" Well what do you guys think. Here are the two dresses. The picture of just the dress is straight from the Gymboree website, the other one is Rylee's Easter picture we got taken the other day.
On the picture note, Rye was a little bit of a dud at pictures, but we still got a cute one for Easter. The other one is a cute Spring picture, but we could not get her to stop giving "knuckles" so the photographer just took a picture of her doing "knuckles!"

Think She'll Be Ready For Tryouts This Spring?

4-Square Anyone?

Obviously she wants to do everything the big girls do when she is around them, but sometimes her curiosity gets her into trouble. On Thursday during our epic 5 hours at the airport some of the girls got some tape out and taped off a 4-square court, very creative I thought. Rylee wanted to sit in the middle of the "court" and watch them play, but unfortunately the ball got her once right in the back. It wasn't very hard, but it caught her off guard and knocked the wind out of the little girl. I made sure to snap a picture of that sad little face and then I gave her some hugs.

Teething Toy or Ball Pump??

While it is fun to chew on, I think it is really funny that she actually understands what the pump is supposed to do. She will sit there and "pump" the ball up all the time at practice and even managed to help pump it up at the airport as well the other day.

A Long Weekend

Rylee and I took our first of three trips for the month this last weekend. On Thursday we loaded up and went to the airport to catch a 10:30 flight to Nashville, TN for a soccer tournament. It was going to be perfect I had it lined up so nap time would be during our 3 1/2 hour flight, but Delta had different plans. Our plane that had just landed from somewhere else was found not safe to fly, engine problems, so they had to find us a new plane from Seattle. After a 3 1/2 hour delay we took off at 2:00 pm for Nashville, 30 minutes after Rye had fallen asleep in her stroller. Not a problem though she was an angel on the plane. I had four players on my flight plus 18 other players from our other teams, so I didn't even see her after take off. We arrived, got bags and went to rent a car to find out Enterprise's car seats were disgusting. The one I was lucky enough to rent was safety recalled by Consumer Reports over 13 years ago. The straps did not adjust so I looked back as we are driving down the freeway to see her climbing out of her car seat. Oh and lets not talk about the stains and crumbs in the car seat. Once we got to the hotel I called our Daddy and he agreed that we needed a different car seat. Off to Target I went and bought a car seat! The hotel was great, the girls played great soccer, so no complaints there. So after the first day things were going great. Rye had constant entertainment from my players, who are so cute with her, and even better she was even sleeping great at the hotel. Then came Saturday night 2 a.m. I woke up with the terrible feeling, rushed to the bathroom and guess what, FOOD POISONING!!! So from 2 until 9 in the morning I was up with that, and lucky for me I have such a great team that they took Rylee into downtown Nashville that day and let me sleep a bit. Rylee got a new cowgirl outfit from the soccer team, and she even got to eat at BB KINGS!! I am so jealous of my 1 1/2 year old daughter who got to eat BB KINGS ribs and I missed out. We got home last night at 12:45 and we are so glad to be home with our Daddy. Nashville looked like an awesome city, and I think I will have to go back there one day! But we are going to rest up for three days and then off to California to visit Grandma and Papa, and our cousins!!!
