Rylee is 6

It is two days after my baby girl turned 6, and I am feeling guilty about not having a birthday post up yet.  I have struggled with the idea of her being 6 already, because 6 to me is no longer a little kid, she is now a kid.  We are so blessed as a family to have this sweet angel in our lives.  She is definitely strong willed and stubborn, but that gets her so far in life and I am learning patience with her.  She recently finished Pre-K and is moving into kindergarten this year, and I wish life could slow down.  Rylee is most excited to go the big school and to have school every single day.

She and Nolan are the best of friends and love playing together and making mischief together.  The two of them love to play games together, babies, legos, the Wii, golf, you name it they always want to be doing it together, and I truly hope she never gets "too cool" for her brother!

Over the last 6 years we have watched this little angel develop into a beautiful kid, and through it all she has not let one thing slow her down.  I will never forget the day she got her first pair of hearing aids, and the look of excitement and she heard sounds for the first time.  Here is this amazing child who for 4 years couldn't hear, yet adapted to reading lips and figuring things out all on her own.  This Summer she is scheduled to have surgery on her ears and we are hoping it will completely fix her hearing loss, and if not we know she does fantastic with her hearing aids and will be fine if not.

She is my big helper around the house.  Rylee loves having jobs to do.  Whether it is setting the table, folding laundry, unloading the dishwasher, she loves being able to do things on her own.  She is become even more independent each day, and I am so proud of her but at the same time I want to still do things for her.

We are so proud of the sweet kid that she is, and as she starts a new year in life we are excited to watch her continue to grow!  I sure love this kiddo!!!

Fun Day Together

Yesterday the kids and I took a day off from soccer and just hung out together, no phone calls and no practice! We started by getting an ice cream together, then we went to the movies and saw Madagascar 3, and ended it with a slip and slide on the backyard! I am sure lucky to have these two kids on my life!

Rylee's Pre-K Graduation

Last Monday Rylee graduated from Pre-K and is most excited to start kindergarten, she is more excited than me.  I just cannot believe she is old enough to be going to kindergarten.  She did so well in school this year and we are so proud of her.  She went to the best school with some awesome people.  The owner of the school is the nicest lady and Rylee just loves her.  She met a lot of fun friends during school this year and has asked several times to have them over to play.  We are so proud of our cute little kindergartener!

Pool

The golf course just recently opened a pool and we have taken a few trips out to it already. The kids love going and it has been plenty hot to enjoy the pool too. We went with our friends last week and they brought the kids these cute silly goggles, and my kids loved them. Here are a few pool pics:

Nolan's Preschool Graduation

A couple weeks ago Nolan had his preschool graduation and he was so incredibly cute.  His teacher told him that if he didn't sing loud he didn't get a graduation balloon, well all I can say is he earned that balloon.  He sang/yelled so loud I was laughing, it was so cute.  He did a great job on all the songs, and I was really proud of him.  He only did a half a year of preschool because of when his birthday is, but he did a great job in school.  He knew all of his classmates names and he loved them!  Since school has been out he misses it so much and all he can talk about is when does school start again.

Nolan's Big Mickey

All Nolan wanted on our trip was a big Mickey, so we waited until the end of the trip and let him pick out which one he wanted.  Luckily he picked one out that could still fit in our suit case!  The first night he had his Mickey he used it as his pillow and was so happy to have his own Mickey!!

Disney World, Final Days

The last few days were spent going and doing all of our favorite things a few more times.  We did all the kids favorite rides, got some of their favorite treats and enjoyed a great parade and fireworks show.

Dinner on Saturday was with Winnie the Pooh and friends, so Nolan was most excited to meet a few more new friends.
