Favorite Toy

Nolan loves the exersaucer more than ever lately, probably because he has it figured out. He can spin in it, he knows how to make it make noise, he chews on the toys, and he gets to stand! The only problem with the exersaucer is it seems to make him spit up even more than normal, but at least it all stays on the edge of it and is easy wipe up.

Rylee Watching Elmo's World in Style

This morning Nolan was taking his nap and Rylee wanted to watch Elmo's World downstairs. While I was setting up the DVD she went and dragged Nolan's car-seat out and got herself a blanket. She pulled the car-seat right up next to the TV, climbed in, got the blanket and a remote and watched the entire DVD without moving. She sure makes me laugh.

5 Months

Nolan turned 5 months on Saturday! He is growing like a weed and eating us out of food. He is already eating cereal for breakfast and an entire jar of vegetables at dinner. He is sleeping really well at night and taking great naps during the day. Recently he has started rolling, not quite a master at it yet but he is doing well. He also loves to push off of anything with his feet, and can literally push across the room. His favorite new trick is standing by himself while holding onto something. This is so different for us compared to Rylee who didn't stand until about 9 months by herself! We are pretty sure he is going to be giving us a run for our money much quicker than his sister did! For those who haven't gotten to meet Nolan yet, just so you know he is one of the happiest little boys in the world. He loves smiling, laughing at his sister, eating, talking and screaming, rolling, playing with toys, and most of all jumping in any toy that allows him too.

Kick Ball

Lucky for me one of my old coaches from BYU was running in the traithlon with Matt, in preparation for his Half IronMan (GO Coach Jolley) so Rylee had lots of kids to play with. She really attached to their daughter Emma quickly and had a great time playing with her. Emma would help her run the bases after she kicked the ball in a good old fashion game of kick ball! It would have been a long day without their help!

My Tri-Athlete

Yesterday was Matt's triathlon, and he did great! He was one of three first timers doing the race. We woke up nice and early so everyone could watch "Daddy's Whoa Big Race!" They started with a 1 mile swim, then a 26 mile bike and finished with a 6 mile run. Rylee had a great time cheering him on and playing with some new friends. Nolan took a good nap in the Baby Bjorn, but sadly did get a sunburn on his cheeks, even with sunblock and a hat. We had fun watching and Matt had a good time racing, and is planning on doing another race later this Summer.

Last Day In Hawaii

With taking the red-eye on Saturday night it gave us an entire extra day to play in Hawaii! In the morning we woke up and went into town and did some shopping with Travis, Tarah and kids. We picked up a few gifts for people and had lunch at Pizza Hut, fancy huh!? After naps the Dads and Grandparents went golfing, and the Moms and kids went to the fountains one more time. The kids had a blast, but did get a bit chilly by the end, so Grandma rescued them in the car after golf. We had dinner and then headed to the airport. Our flight left at 10:50 and both kids were sound asleep before the 10,000 feet anouncement, and they slept until we had to get off the plane in Phoneix. Rylee must have asked 100 times to go back to Hawaii, but she has enjoyed being home and seeing her friends this week.

Friday in Hawaii

Lunch With Papa
Such a big girl
Daddy and his girl
On Friday we woke up determined to go do something "touristy" but we didn't even leave Grandma and Grandpa's development. We thought about the Rain Forrest Zoo, but it was a 2 1/2 hour drive each way. Then we considered the submarine, but Aunt Tarah gets to claustrophobic! Uncle Travis thought the glass bottom boats would be fun, but we missed the noon boat because all the kids were napping! It ended up being just as much fun, because the kids were perfectly happy swimming and playing together all day. That evening the Dads and Papa took the older two to see the turtles, while the mommies, Grandma and the little boys went to the grocery store. It was a pretty fun and relaxing day.

More Hawaii - Thursday

The Beach
Thursday morning everyone went to the beach, except Nolan and I, he was asleep. I enjoyed a nice quiet morning to myself, and everyone else had a blast a the beach. Rylee was still unsure about the ocean, but she gave it a try with Grandma and Papa.
She and Matt played in the sand together and built sand castles. Then they took a ride on the boogie board, Rylee was a little scared, but settled in after a few minutes.

After sand castles, swimming and boogie boarding it was time for snacks. Aunt Tarah was nice enough to pack snacks for the kids - grapes, crackers and a drink!

Mission Accomplished
Tarah and I had a goal each day to get all 4 kids asleep at the same time for at least 5 minutes, and every day we were able to! It is pretty easy when they spend all morning running in the sun and swimming, but we were proud of ourselves.

The Fountains
This was definitely the highlight of the afternoon. After nap time we loaded up the kids and headed over to the fountains, and it was a blast. The grandparents and dads were golfing, so the moms were alone with the kids. The kids had a riot together. There are so many cute pictures from the fountains... here are a few:

Nolan on the Plane

Just in case someone didn't believe me when I said Nolan was amazing on the plane, here is a picture to prove my point. If he wasn't sleeping, he was just being happy sitting on Matt's lap.

Golf Course With Daddy

While I was playing in a softball game and watching a soccer game tonight, Matt took the kids to the driving range. Rylee is really starting to get it this year. She is swinging and making contact with the ball. She would hit six balls and then run and get them, then Matt would tee them up again and they would do it all over. Matt is very excited to take her again.

Wednesday

Wednesday was a very exciting day for Rylee, Cousin Bryson and Lucas came! She and Bryson had so much fun playing together, it was fun to see them interact almost like brother and sister. In the morning the Rylee and I played at the house, Nolan took a 4 hour nap, while Papa, Daddy and Grandma golfed. Rylee found Papa's house phone and laid on the couch "calling" everyone she could think of, Papa Rick, Double G, Cousin Megan, Trevor, Uncle Jason, Kami, her friend Maddi, and the list could go on and on, it was really cute! She and I then went out front and played bubbles while we waited for the golfer to get home. Once they were back Grandma and I headed to the airport to get Uncle Travis, Aunt Tarah, Bryson and Lucas, while Rylee swam in the pool with Daddy and Papa, and took a nap. Once we were all at the house everyone was pretty hot so out to the pool again, and then across the street to the community pool. After swimming and dinner, Daddy and Uncle Travis too the two big kids across the lava rocks to hole number 11 to play in the bunker while the Daddies practiced their golf shots. From this day until we left, I think the house was a little rowdy for Granmda and Papa Steve, but I know we are so grateful for all the fun we had.

Tuesday Fun

Grandma and Papa went golfing Tuesday morning, so we spent the morning hanging out and relaxing together. Daddy and Rylee were practicing some golf in the backyard when an airplane starting flying overhead, so they sat down and watched together. The two of them had fun waving to the plane and pointing at it as it flew by. There was more pool time, and then we went to dinner and then got Dairy Queen ice cream for dessert. Rylee ate her entire ice cream cone and loved it. She also is the best at making Nolan smile, every time she looked over the edge of the table at him he lit up, it is so sweet to see.
