Sitting So Big

Rylee has mastered a new trick! If we sit her up she can balance herself and sit and play with her toys, it is so cute. Earlier today we were playing with her train and she sat up with me and played for 10 minutes without falling over. She gets so excited when she sits up, she smiles, laughs and flaps her little arms. - k

Giggles

Rylee was laughing so cute and Matt was still at work, so I took it upon myself to tickle and film at the same time, so this is what you get. - k

Saturday in Hawaii

Saturday was a great day because Rylee was finally feeling better and keeping everything down. We went to the beach and while Matt and I went snorkeling, Rylee got to go on a walk with Grandpa and snuggle Grandma. The only sad thing about Saturday was it was our last day in Hawaii, on Sunday we had to fly home. - k

Friday

Today was yet another fun and beautiful day. Matt and Grandpa went and played golf early, so the girls went to the pool. Rylee loved lounging in her boat and catching some sun, a sign to us that she must be feeling better (we were wrong). She is still not keeping anything down and not feeling well. While Grandma and Grandpa were playing some more golf, Matt, Rye and I stayed home. Rylee did not want to be held, so I laid her down to play with some toys and you can see what happened. With Rylee asleep, Matt caught up on some sleep of his own. - k

Tuesday in Hawaii

Monday was a great day, but the camera was left out! So you'll have to take my word for it. I got to go golfing with Grandma and Grandpa while Matt watched Rylee, and then we had another fun night at the pool! Tuesday we did some sight-seeing. About a 2-hour drive from Grandma and Grandpa's place is this cool beach called Green Sands Beach, and yes the sand is really green. (There's a gemstone mixed in with the sand that turns it that color.) It was about an hour hike out to get there but it was so pretty it was worth it. Rylee was toted along in the front carrier and had a great time while Mom and Dad got some much-needed sun. On our walk back Matt noticed some guys down on the rocks throwing casting-nets and catching fish, so he got some pictures of that for Uncle Jeff. We are a bit more adjusted to the time change--well, at least I am. Matt is having a hard time with it this trip, but he is enjoying the extra sleep with no work and just relaxation :)! Matt took the top picture of the Green Sands Cove. It looks like a post card! The only sad part of this day is it seems Rylee has got a bit of a tummy-bug. She's not keeping much down right now, so hopefully she will get better soon :(! - k

Sunday in Hawaii

I figured I would just do a little journal with our pictures to keep everyone posted while we are in Hawaii. Sunday we woke up a little early (4:45am); the time change was a bit hard on all of us. Matt went and looked for golf balls and was very successful finding over 110 balls on day 1! After breakfast we walked down to the beach to look for the whales. It is whale season right now, I just learned this. They swim down from Alaska during the winter to have their babies, and then swim back up to Alaska once it starts to warm up! We saw lots of whales and Matt even caught a picture of one jumping out of the water. After that Matt, Grandma and Grandpa went golfing, and Rylee and I joined them on hole 15. We found that Rylee loves--and I mean LOVES--driving the golf cart and riding along. From golf we went to the pool which was another hit in Rylee's book! - k

Plane Ride

Rylee was so good on the plane ride over to Hawaii. On the second flight from Honolulu to Kona she could not get enough of looking out the window. She sat on Matt's lap and stared out the window, looking at the clouds. She would look out the window then look up at Matt and then back out the window--it was so cute! - k

Playtime

Okay, it is a good thing Rylee has been so cute today, because she was stinker last night. She played on her blanket with her toys for over an hour and a half this morning. She rolled everywhere, I never moved her so when she is in a different corner she did that all by herself. She is going front to back both ways now and it is so funny how frustrated she gets when she can't reach a toy she wants. I hope you enjoy all the pictures. - k

Soccer Meeting

Poor Rylee has to go every where I go and that includes boring soccer meetings. She entertained the entire room of people with her smile and non-stop chatter. She loved sitting on the couch like a big girl and playing with all of her toys. - k

Storytime with Uncle Jeff

Uncle Jeff is in town for some work training and he stopped by to play with Rylee for the day. Every night before bed Rylee gets story time, and Uncle Jeff took the opportunity to read to Rylee. It was rather funny, every time Jeff would start to talk Rylee would sort of squawk along with him, and as soon as he stopped reading she would stop. It was really cute. - k

Rolling Video

We finally got Rylee to roll over for our camera. She takes about three tries to get all the way over but she does it, and make sure you have the sound on for this one she is squealing in it. -k

Rolling :)

Big news!! Rylee came to visit Grandma and Grandpa this weekend and she put on a show. She has been so close to rolling the last week and Matt said, "If you go she is going to learn how to roll!" Well, she did! Tonight she rolled back-to-tummy and got her arms out of the way, and then went tummy-to-back. Watch out: she is mobile! Pictures to come soon. I have it on video on Grandma's camera but haven't gotten it yet. - k

6 Month Check Up

Rylee had her 6 month check up today and she is doing terrific. She weighed in at 16 lbs 2 oz (48 percentile) and was 25.4 inches (31 percentile). She gets to start solids two times a day now, and start adding more real food in about 3 weeks. I was given I little talking to that she needs to start sleeping through the night, I am such a softy I just go get her. So, starting tonight she will have to put herself back to sleep. Developmentally she is right where she needs to be the doctor said. She is so much fun and gets more fun and more difficult at the same time. I always thought 'oh it will get easier when she gets older.' In some ways yes, but now she wants to play so much and interact it is fun but definitely not easier. -k

All Bundled

It is quite chilly here for Rye Rye, but I wanted to go for a walk yesterday so I bundled her up and off we went. She was so precious I had to get a picture of it.

Chatter Box

Yesterday morning Rylee couldn't get enough of her soccer ball! She just talked and talked to it! - k
