Freeplay
MyGym has Freeplay on Mondays, so we brought Uncle Scott along for the fun. Freeplay is a lot more fun with Uncle Scott there. These two had a great time all around the gym. The two things they did the most were bury Rylee in the ball pit, and play 'Log Roll.' Log Roll was Rylee laying in the 'log' and Uncle Scott rolling her all over the gym. She had so much fun showing off her Uncle to everyone there--thanks for coming Scott!
This was also the first Freeplay we have been to since Nolan has really been an active, playful little guy, so it was fun to see him having fun too. We made a "baby" ball pit that he and one other baby played in most of the time!

Brunch With Uncle Scott

Sunday morning we went to the golf course and had brunch with Uncle Scott. Rylee and Scott finished a little sooner than the rest of us, so Uncle Scott was sweet enough to take her to the pond and skip rocks. These are a few shots of them walking back to the clubhouse to go to the car.

Hona's Concert

Last Friday night we went to Hona's Concert! Hona is a co-worker of Matt's that Rylee adores, and he is also in a band, so whenever he has a concert we try to take her. Uncle Scott came with us and we all had a fun time. Rylee is so cute because she sits and listens and she looks so serious, but she is really just focusing on Hona.

Timp Summit
This morning Matt and Scott woke up nice and early to hike Mt. Timpanogos. It took them about 7 hours to get up and back. They are both walking a bit gingerly this evening, but from the sounds of it they had a great time.

Block Time With Uncle Scott

Both kids have had so much fun playing with Scott the past few days, but tonight he was able to play with both of them at the same time. Scott and Rylee were playing blocks when Nolan scooted himself over to join in on the fun.

The Park
I made the mistake of asking Rylee if she wanted to take Uncle Scott to the park today before I checked the weather, so we went even though it was windy and quite chilly for August. She has a great time running and climbing on everything. It is really fun to take her to the park this Summer because she is not as timid with was she is doing. She was fun to watch go down the slides, because on one of them she still loses control of her body and at the bottom says "Whoa!" Scott and Nolan hung out most of the time at the park and had fun watching Rylee play.

Visit From Uncle Scott
Late last night Uncle Scott got into town, and we are excited to have him here for a few days. Rylee was so excited she woke up at 4 a.m. asking to go see him, lucky for him I got her back to sleep. Around 8:30 she heard him calling her name from downstairs and then the fun began. The two of them have played blocks, apples, tools, and read many books. After a morning of playing, Uncle Scott came to the gym with us and then we met Daddy back at the house for lunch and much needed naps. After nap time Uncle Scott and Rylee read some more books and then we headed to the park. Rylee definitely entertained us at the park with her climbing and silliness. These two have had a great time so far.
Uncle Scott cannot believe how big Nolan has gotten and they too have had fun with each other. He has had fun watching Nolan's attempts at crawling, he scoots well just a few more days and he will be crawling!

On The Border

One of my favorite restaurants that we do not have in Utah is On The Border, so while I was in Texas we made a stop for dinner there. Nolan got to sit in a high chair for the first time and he loved it. Rylee got to colored with Papa and got went on a walk. We had a yummy dinner and a great time.

New Splash Park

A few weeks ago a new splash park opened up near our house, so yesterday we went over to check it out, and it was great. Rylee absolutely loved it. She is a riot when she plays in water, she cannot walk no matter how hard she tries, she is just having too much fun. Every time she gets wet, she runs back over to us and yells, "Mommy/Daddy, I got wet," then she runs right back to the water. The water is absolutely freezing at this park and her little body was really cold, so every now and then she needed to lay out and warm up. We only had one little incident where she bonked her knee, this picture makes it seem more dramatic then it really was. She is really into big girl drinks right now (Capri Suns), so I packed a few for the afternoon. The best part of the whole afternoon was that Daddy came with us on his lunch break. Nolan was along for the ride to, but he was zonked out in his car-seat the whole time.

New Cowboy's Stadium

While we were in Texas Grandma Kathi took us to see the new Cowboy's Stadium, so we could take a picture in front of it for Daddy. It is enormous and very nice, I'm sure we will see a game in it soon. We stopped by the pro-shop and got Daddy a new hat and the kids each a t-shirt, and Rylee insisted on wearing hers on the plane ride home.

Thanksgiving Point Gardens
For the month of August Thanksgiving Point is running $2 Tuesdays, so we took advantage today and invited our friends. When you first walk into the Children's Gardens there is a big Noah's Ark water area to play in. The girls spent over an hour there and then we explored the rest of the gardens. There is a lighthouse you can climb to the top and look out of, there are rocks you can climb up, a giant waterfall, and a lot of other type of climbing areas all throughout the Gardens. The girls had a blast running all over the Amphitheater and playing on the stage at the bottom. Once we got to the Amphitheater we stopped and had a snack and a drink and then the girls played more. From the Amphitheater we headed back to the water area and then home for long naps! We will be going back, but maybe not until the fall when it is a little cooler.

Reading Books

The other morning Rylee and I had been reading books when Nolan woke up from his nap and I needed to go get him. I left her on the couch and when I came back downstairs she was sitting on the couch reading the stories to herself. She would tell the story in her own words and then turn the pages, it was so sweet. She read for a little over 30 minutes and then asked if she could read to Nolan, so I set them up on the floor together and they read books together.
