The kids and I spent 5 days in Chicago a few weeks ago, and we are all ready to go back. I didn't even see as much as I wanted of the city, and it has still become one of my most favorite places. We had a soccer tournament for a few days, and then we spent a few days at our friends house.
We arrived on a Saturday and the first thing we did was find somewhere to get Chicago style pizza. It was so cute when the pizza came out Nolan said, "Mommy, I wanted pizza that is pie." While it did look like pie I had to reassure him that it was pizza, and then he loved it!
On Sunday we had a soccer game, and then we went into downtown. We started at the Willis (Sears) Tower and the kids loved it. They thought it was so cool that we could see "forever" and they even laid down and looked straight at the ground in the sky box. Following the tower we went to dinner at another delicious pizza place, and then walked to the Hershey Chocolate store.
Monday started with another soccer game, and then we went to Lake Michigan for a "swim," but since the water is freezing the kids played in the sand and let the water splash them. It was then back to the hotel to get clean and go to dinner.
Tuesday was our last soccer game, and then we decided to head to our friend's house, the Munro's, a day earlier than planned because all the kids were so excited to see each other. It was so nice to see our friends, and the kids were so excited to just go play. The next two days were spent playing toys in the house riding bikes and scooters, going to the park, having popsicles, and really truly just enjoying our time.
Here are some pictures from the trip:
