After a long week at work, we thought our Daddy was in need of a surprise. We didn't have much time to plan, but I jumped online Saturday morning and clicked around, and put together a little mini-vacation to Park City. It is so close to our house and we go up there often, but we have never done the "tourist" activities. We started by checking into the Marriott, taking naps, and then we headed over to Park City Resort. They have so many fun activities set up at the ski resort for the Summer, including a slide that goes down a ski run, called the Alpine Slide. Rylee loved the 20 minute chair-lift ride to the top of the slide. She sat on Daddy's lap and watched everybody go underneath us. When we got to the top she rode down with Daddy. I went first so I could turn around and look back every now and then, and she was loving it. She helped Daddy push the lever forward to go, she squealed, and when we finished she wanted to go again. "More, More!" After the slide we went and walked the shops and had a very good fajitas at a Mexican Restaurant.

Swimming Time

After the slide and dinner we headed to the swimming pool at the hotel. Rylee had a great time swimming, jumping into the pool, and splashing Daddy and I. Her favorite thing was to "jump" off the edge of the pool to Daddy. She is not a great jumper yet, but she would wait for Daddy to count to three and then she would squat down and fall forward. Rylee was pretty worn out after the pool, but we headed out to Cold Stone to get some ice cream. She has never eaten ice cream--we have offered, but she has not taken it. Last night I gave her a bite and she opened right up, and in it went. Then came the shocked look on her face and the tongue thrust, and out it came. She was not expecting it to be so cold. Once she got used to it she enjoyed three or four more bites and that was that.

Vacuum Helper

Rylee has luckily never been afraid of the vacuum, it has always been just the opposite, she loves it. The problem used to be she would try to push and I would end up knocking her over, then she learned how to turn the vacuum on and off, but now she is my cord holder. She follows me around the house holding the cord out of my way, so I don't run it over. The messy face is courtesy of her Paradise Bakery Chocolate Chip cookie that comes with every sandwich.

The Zoo With Her Boys

Rylee thinks Carson and Jensen are the coolest, most fun people in the whole world. She just giggles with Jensen, and Carson takes such good care of her no matter what we are doing, such a good "big brother" to her. Today we went to the zoo with our friends. Carson is extremely bright. When I asked him what his favorite animal was, he replied, "Animal or Reptile?" I then learned it was a turtle, a reptile. He also would point out certain types of plants and what their names were and characteristics. So smart. Jensen and Rylee loved looking at the animals and being outside. Jensen is such a good kid, he can always make Rylee laugh. The highlight of the trip was the train ride at the end and our lunch at Paradise Bakery and Cafe! Thanks for coming with us guys!

Fun Times with Her Trike

Today was a yucky morning with lots of wind and rain, but this evening was absolutely gorgeous. We went outside on a walk together and Rylee wanted to play with all puppies, until she got to close to them! After our walk I got her trike out to play with. She needs about another 1/2 inch to be able to push the pedals, but that did not stop her from figuring out a very fun way to play with it. She had so much fun running and pushing her trike, we did have one stumble, but it did not stop her.

Rylee and Her Stick
Rylee found a new toy on the golf course. She was walking near the cart path when she picked up this stick. It lasted several holes, but in the end she loved it to pieces--literally--and the eventual death of the stick was very sad indeed. I thought the whole thing was cute, how she ventured off on her own to find the stick and brought it back to us, very proud of it. Mostly because 'venturing off' for Rye is hardly ever more than 40 feet away. I'm sure we'll find another one next time. --m.

Newly Discovered Treat

We have offered Rylee watermelon on several different occasions, but she would never eat it. Tonight I was eating some and she pointed at it and asked for some. So, I put a bit on the fork, she opened her mouth, and then stuck her tongue out and would not eat the watermelon. We did this a few times, and I looked at her and said, "just eat it!" Once she finally ate a bite, I could not get her to stop eating it. I hope this is the start to eating lots of foods she has not wanted to try yet.

A Few More Pool Party Pics
It was really fun last night because our Daddy came with us to the pool party too. He does not get to make many soccer events because of his work schedule, so it was really fun to have him there too. The other picture is just a few of my girls. I am really sad right now because I am giving this team up this year and I am really going to miss this group of girls. They have been so much fun and such a great team to coach, but after 2 1/2 years it is time for a change. The fun part is I still get to work with them as their team trainer.

Best Friend, Tay-Tay

While Rylee loves every girl on the team and will go to any of them at any moment, she has really taken to one of my player in particular, Taylor. Whenever we drive up to a field, to Taylor's house, or if she sees any of the girls she starts asking for "Tay-Tay." Taylor is so sweet and will always watch Rylee for me. I have been working with a younger team lately and Taylor will come to those practices or games, just to watch Rylee for me. Taylor is also the big sister to Jensen in the picture below and Carson who is not pictured, and Rylee really likes playing with the boys too. So a shout out to our best friend, thanks for all you do for Rylee!

Pool Party

After an evening of soccer practice, what is better than a pool party with the soccer team? For those who do not know, Rylee thinks she is 14 and is a member of the team. These girls are her best friends. Tonight was our end of the season party and Rylee had a great time. It started with swimming and playing with the girls, then some pizza, brownies and gummi bears. Her little friend Jensen was there, he is 4, and she absolutely adores him. He is really cute with her too, very protective of "Baby Rylee."

No Pictures, Please
My poor daughter got a sunburn on Saturday, something about being outside from 8:00am - 4:30pm. Yes, we had sunblock, but she is so fair. The funny part is my players put on the sunblock and were scared to get it in her eyes, so the only place she was burnt was around her eyes. So, on Saturday evening her eyes were bright red, it was so sad. Then Sunday when she woke up she had scratched her eye and now she has a huge scab on the side of her nose. On top of that under her eyes is now flaking away. So, I will get pictures as soon as my little girl looks pretty again!

Yes, we are still alive

It has been a long week full of soccer everyday. Luckily, Rylee loves being out at the fields and playing with her best friends. State Cup is over and I never took a picture of her out at the fields playing, but she will be on thousands of fields to get those pictures. After a long two weeks of soccer we thought we would unwind with a bit of shopping in Park City. Rylee would not hold still for me to get a picture, so this is the only one where it is not the back of her head. I promise to be a better blogger this next month!
